I'm A 44 year old nurse and I'm moving to Atlanta. Im selling my home and closing in Sept. To move to Atlanta Georgia. Im so nervous. You got this.. I moved from Maryland to Texas in 2015 by myself just bcuz with no goal. Stayed for 2 years and then moved to North Carolina in 2017 and brought a house in 2019. So many lessons and blessings with moving out your home state

@@lifestyleofshonda I budgeted. Wrote down my must pay bills : rent, electric, car note, insurance, estimated gas and food. And subtracted it from monthly net income. And the remaining I put 80% into saving, 10% fun money and other 10% emergency fund. At that time when I moved in 2015 I was making $21/hr. When I came to NC I was making $24/hr but I had to be disciplined and basically save up all my money after I paid my bills. No eating out, no spending fun money for a year and saved up just enough for closing cost, I got down payment assistance. I wanted it so bad so I scarified not getting my nails done, doing my own pedicure, not buying unnecessary clothes and shoes recycling what I had, not going to the club and had functions at my crib (once a few months) cuz again I wasn’t trying to spend unnecessary money cuz I had a goal! You can do it!

Omg I feel like we had the same experience! I moved to Atlanta sometime in December last year and I did it alone. With my brother but the whole trip and stuff was done alone. I needed a lot of shredding from life and friends. It was a lot for me, but after almost 9 months now I am adjusting pretty well. I’m still trying to make friends, but overall its been a good change of environment thus far.
