My husband and I, also from SC, have decided to move to Costa Rica within the year. We thought we'd go for 2 weeks, rent a 4 wheel drive Jeep or something similar just explore down the Caribbean coast and back up the Pacific coast and hit some slightly inland places as well, camp under the stars every night, and find the location we like the most. Then search for a home while tying up loose ends here. Do you have any suggestions on areas to live? We want somewhere laid back, slower paced, friendly areas. I'm turning 50 in a few days and he is 54 so we also want to be close to hiking areas, the beaches of course, and reasonable cost of living. Just so excited and trying to do my research thoroughly. Thanks for any advice!
