At 75 years old, I can tell you one thing I think I know about your dad. I dream when I sleep and it seems every dream involves being useful. If your dad has physical limitations, I’d bet he dreams of being active and useful. You would be doing him a great kindness if you talk to him about things he taught you, good times you’ve shared, and how important he still is to you. You’re welcome.

Totally understand the frustrations you are having with your parents. Went through the same thing with mine. Ended up quitting my job of 25+ years to give my Dad the care he needed 24/7 to keep him out of the nursing home. Other family members usually walk around with their heads up their ass and don't know what is really going on. When I put a stop to them walking off with stuff that was around the house things really got interesting. Wish you good luck dealing with it all.

Same thing going on with my grandfather, one of his sons got his CDL and only put a year worth of work in and thought he was going to get my grandfather's business (that he spent 18 years to build up). There was talk about my uncle taking the money the business made to himself a new house, new pick up truck, gonna make some changes as he felt some drivers (me) wasn't "putting in enough work" to his liking. In the end he didn't get the business so he took off somewhere else and took his buddies with him while taking some of our contracts with him. Now he's crying that my grandparents want nothing to do with him and that he's being treated unfairly yet just earlier this year he was all about sucking my grandfather's business dry for his personal gain. Long story short, it's sad when family don't appreciate having the grandparents still around and would even hurt them for personal gain but when the time comes they'll cry the loudest on what they miss, if the tears are genuine and not just for show.

I did a similar thing with my parents. they helped me move from KS back to NJ by chipping in on a tilt deck car trailer which I knew would be useful later anyway. I put a car on it and all my heavy tools and parts from the garage and made sure I didn't exceed tongue weight or GCVWR although I was close. I put air bags on the back of my 1500 and also used a weight distributing hitch. It was a nice looking setup loaded, didn't even look like it had weight on it fully loaded. hemi had plenty of power even with the old 5 speed auto. Most times we're talking 2400 rpm around 60 or 65 on the highway or if going up a grade, it would steady out at 2900. I was happy. You can never have too much truck. I thought about going enclosed trailer and doing multiple trips but that was just out of the budget. wound up getting a 26 foot box truck and loading that to the gills on the next trip.

You’re a good man Charle Brown, prayers for your dad, lost my dad back in April of 2012 I had a 18 Ram with the Hemi 6.4, for me, it was a mistake to buy that truck, I pull a 5th wheel quite a bit, and the torque rating on the Hemi is way to low to maintain speed, having to use to much throttle to hold the speed, sold it and bought a Cumins 6.7, handle the trailer much better, with better fuel economy, hope you have a great new year! Stay safe my brother from another mother, happy trucking

The reason I'm asking this is you get all kinds of opinions on how to set the brake controller and all this kind of crazy stuff. So you're a truck driver you obviously understand how to use trailer brakes I think a video would be quite helpful

Hey Steve. Youre a good guy, always trying to do the best for people around you. But family is what it is, sometimes a pleasure, sometimes a living hell. But you just have to find out whats best for you, your marriage and business, and do what you had to do. You cant save everyone, or always deal with others toxic behavior,- it may well ruin your own life. I know that from my own life. That said, have a nice and pleasant time with Jen. You both deserve to be alone for a while, doing things by your own.

Hey teamster or independent stop kicking yourself!! You are doing great since you survived 😅 now everyone goes thru your kind of shit! If you love yourself forgive yourself you are going to be great. I’m 77 yrs grew up in civil rights when America was guilty. The war no one wanted. You need to put your sister aside and look forward. Your family does not wish you well! Christian’s ( real) do not behave that way. You are talented and big hearted don’t quit. Most Americans go through your experience. My family was also that way! I gave them my share of inheritance 50%. They took it their kids blew it on dope lost everything now they are back to poverty! Some people you can not help. I live very comfortable love my hobby farm. Orchards gardens chickens grapes blackberries. Now my sister and her kids want me to put them in my will. Not going to happen. I also my wife and I loaded them $46,000 which they blew. Steve Bible states “ in the last days a believer will find his enemies within his own family. Soo true! So True!!😢

I would imagine that building has 3 phase power. You van probably find a 3 phase compressor used for cheap. Most guys don't bid on them at auction because they only have single phase power. Probably a 120/208 WYE connected transformer feeding that building
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj 9 ай бұрын
I always tell my friends how 3p compressors don't sell for much on the used market because they can't easily be used at home. I have upgraded compressors 3 times in the past 2 years every time I find a great deal. Not all 3p compressors will run on low volt and high volt 3p. At my shop I have a 120/208 wye type 3 phase and many compressors designed to run on 277/480 can't be wired to run on 208v/220v 3p. The first 3p compressor was a 10hp champion with 80 gallon tank that came from a sears store automotive service department. The second 3p compressor I picked up was a 20hp 3 cylinder 120g ingersoll rand t30 which I paid $350 for and then my current compressor is a 20hp Atlas Copco g15 rotary screw compressor with refrigerated dryer on a 120 gallon tank. It was 2 years old when I got it and it only had 500 hours on it and I paid $1500 for it. There are simply so many used 3p compressors available on the market.
@joecummings1260
@joecummings1260 9 ай бұрын
@@ChrisHarding-lk3jj Yeah I have 120/240 3 phase open delta with the high leg here. Most of the 480 volt stuff I can rewire the motor to work on 240, but I have to figure on changing the motor starter as the 480v ones are usually too small. All the new services here are 120/208 wye, so typically you end up connecting the motor for 240, running it on 208, and living with the poor peformance. On a compressor it usually isn't too bad because of the duty cycle
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj 9 ай бұрын
@@joecummings1260 My previous shop had the oddball 240 corner grounded delta which I hated due to needing a kva transformer, the unit right next door had a 400A 120/208 wye service and it would of been nice if they would have upgraded all of the units. When I moved into my current shop I had to replace the heating element in my aqueous cabinet parts washer with a 208v element otherwise I was losing 1500 watts of heat. Another often overlooked issue with 208v power is welders The newer inverter type welders will recognize and run on just about any voltage but the older transformer based welders. The older miller 251 welders have a jumper for 208v and 240v. I have seen quite a few 240v 3p motors that are not capable of running on 480v and I have seen quite a few electric motors designed to only run on 460v/600v. It's crazy how expensive 3p plugs and receptacles are. I like having the ability to quickly unplug things for service or cleaning and I needed a 60A 208v 3p plug and receptacle, the receptacle was a little over $100 and the plug was a little over $80 and they shouldn't cost that much because they aren't made any different than single phase plugs and receptacles.
