hey Settled! I'm a longtime Wiki editor, and the person who added "typeless" on the page. guess this is my 15 minutes of fame haha! anyway, "melee damage" had been previously removed from the article, so I figured it was typeless. regardless, I hope my error doesn't turn people off from the Wiki, we are (usually....) incredibly thorough. I invite everyone to stop by the Wiki Discord to see just how much testing goes into our edits and pages! we really do try to be as accurate as possible, and we are constantly undoing vandalism and incorrect info, testing the changes people make.

I did the calculation and with that gear and those levels the guard had a 14.5% chance to end the account if his prayer was just a single tick later. That was an extremely close call

Quick tip for navigating Wiki pages, you can view change logs under the revision history for any and every page. You can compare to the current edit or the previous edit below in the change log. When [[Undead tree]] was first made back in 2013, protect from melee was on the page and mentioned as a viable option. Over time this got written out by a revision on 32 May 2017 by HeirApparently. Bissette changed the text for small amount to typeless on 30 July 2023. It was a significant rewrite so probably was an untested change. As always, the Wiki appreciates testing and page edits, so thank you for the contribution to fix an old error Settled.

hey there, I'm Bisette, and I just wanted to clear the Wiki's name a bit - I made the edit that changed "small amounts" specifically because "melee" had been previously removed. I do agree that it would have been worth testing first rather than going off past edits. but for the record the Wiki does strive to back stuff up as much as possible, and are constantly testing things to ensure they're accurate. it's a shame that my mistake here is leading people to shit-talk the Wiki, since our team is incredibly thorough and hard-working, often with no compensation, just love for the game.

@@crystalcvt Hey dont beat yourself over it. Both runescape wikis (OS and 3) are the absolute best wikis Ive ever seen for anything, even among many non game wikis. These small errors are bound to appear in such a massive wiki, and from what I can see it was lightning fast in correcting the small error which just goes to show the dedication.

You know what's interesting? The protect from melee information was actually in the wiki article when it was first created but a user had stripped that information out of the wiki in 2017 for whatever reason

The old wiki from 10+ years ago seemed to be much more accurate. This one routinely gets details wrong about enemy info and inaccurately lists quest skill/items in the “required” section when it should be in the “recommended” section (and vice versa) and is misleading or vague on certain details

In my experience, I usually find that clicking settled videos had a cooldown of about 20 minutes. If you are really trying to be efficient tho, you can click the settled channel and click the settled videos tab and click every settled video. However, I dont recommend this because its not in the spirit of the game.

@@junietwoknees He was safe there as he got protect from melee up at the final possible moment. He could've clicked to run or teleport away on the same timing as well and been safe that way. Also flinching is sort of the only way to 'cancel' npc attacks in osrs.

@@junietwoknees He put on protect from melee on which 100% negates against any and all of the damage. He explained in the video that he managed to turn it on at the final most possible time, if he didnt manage to do it he could still have survived with a 15% chance of actually getting hit (according to this guys comment), so thats still an 85% chance of survival if he missed putting the protect from melee on.

Wait you're gonna do the fight cave with the mole slippers? I'm pretty sure you can get the Shayzien boots (5) easily with protect from melee for an additional +4 ranged bonus. Also don't ever forget that if you switch back your bone cbow to rapid you lose 2 tiles of range (meaning some of the safespot won't work any more).

I cant get enough of this series. Its absolutely insane. Itd be crazy enough to have a hardcore mode where you only ever had 10hp and dieing meant losing your account forever but 1 hp is just max level stress. Absolutley love it!

Fences have either been your best friend or your worst enemy in every step of the journey so far. They've stalled your animation long enough to bring your attention back on screen, they've outright kept you safe from monsters while training, and they've even been the direct cause of nearly every one of your deaths.

Dunno if anyone else has mentioned this but whenever I find myself needing to go to Rellekka multiple times in a day (questing, slayer, dying to Galvek, etc) I just move my house there. Only requires 30 construction, one quest (daddy's home), and 30k. Could help you save time with the long run and keep you safer. Hope this can come in handy to ya

Settled, with any slayer task you can use a plug-in named "Aggressive timer" where you're able to see where the lines of boundaries are to walk within, if your Ice Giants fall within that grid you can do a task there. But baring in mind there's a safespot on east--side of mudskipper point ones.

Dude this guy is breaking the wiki. Also I have farmed those guards for levels of range and when you started the first thought I had was "he does know that guard can move out of sight right".

Settled, there's a 100% safe place to range Guards from: the wheat field north of Ardy. There are 3 guards nearby, it's pretty easy to range them from there, and you're surrounded by a fence. Just tested with a bone crossbow, works wonders. Go, give it a try ;)

If you want to get cosmic runes without entering the wilderness you can buy them from MTA. Since a single cast of lvl-4 enchant yields more points on average than the cost of a cosmic rune.

My favorite thing about thing about snowflake accounts is stuff like the undead tree where it comes out that the wiki was wrong about something because that one guy who actually bothered to test that super niche thing that doesn't really matter for anyone but snowflake accounts.
