@@melofelo4484 there are many ways to increase difficulty in Tetris. Most of the time, the falling speed increases, and if it already lands instantly, then the delay needed to lock will decrease, as well as the spawn delay. (lock delay defaults to 500 ms, spawn delay at 100 ms, which is almost unnoticeable for a new player) There also exists pentominoes, which are more complicated than tetrominoes. Then there's adding opponents that send garbage. Then other unique stuff like having to clear a perfect clear puzzle, or get as many combos as you can with a 4wide setup.

To be fair, if you've *literally* never played Tetris before, you might be unaware of very basic strategy, like: * Try to build mostly flat. * Try to leave room for an O Tetrimino (i.e. a flat surface at least two blocks wide) and an S or Z Tetrimino (i.e. a non-flat surface at least two blocks wide, not up against the edge). * Try to place Tetriminos as low as possible. Prioritize filling wells over other placements. * Try to keep an I in the hold space most of the time. Prefer to fill wells with S, Z, L, or J if possible. * If you can't hold an I, try to hold a T instead. T can fit into most positions that S or Z would fit into, but can also be placed flat, and advanced players can use it to T-spin. * Try to leave one column completely empty most of the time (for beginners, usually on the far left or right, for experts, usually near the middle). Drop I's into it when the board gets too high (or when you have no better place to put them). * If a well is 3+ blocks deep, and only one block wide, you need to put an I into it (or else you'll leave a gap at the bottom). Try to avoid creating such wells. * Don't mix up S and Z or J and L. Learn to recognize which one fits into which well. If you're still confused, enable standard Tetrimino colors in the Tetris Effect settings. It will look less pretty, but the colors may help your brain pattern-match better.
