a few weeks ago I found this John Deere 9500 on Big Iron auction. when I realized it was a low hour machine I didn't think I would be able to ever purchase it.

Watching your son climb on the ladder, I can't help remembering when you brought him on the other farm in a baby basket on the equipment. Time shore flies.

what an awesome find and buy. You won't beat a 9500...so reliable and all the comfort-features of a modern one. I don't even get excited over newer series anymore. They look like nothing but expensive headaches as a result of endless electrical and anti-pollution engine troubles. I also think Deere has made their combines cheaper with crappy light steel....the combines just plain wear out quicker.

Them tensioner bolts were painted along with other stuff at some point. From the factory the chains and belts would be put on an already painted machine there for the tensioner bolt would be unpainted. Nice combine but definitely has more hours than what’s being shown

Yes, once again eric has zero idea what he's talking about. Belts and chains are always added after painting...Its why they're not green haha. Erics trying to act like he has some knowledge but he still lacks alot.

This was pretty awesome. As someone who is originally from a very large farm, I like to see how things are going with farming. Cheers, Eric! #FarmersFeedPeople

In the other video, you said them were separator hours? Who writes separator hours on the filters? What are the engine hours? 12-1500?

good machines back in the day but with hours they break apart on the rear above the sieves

It because nobody wants a 30 year old machine...its pretty simple. Those old 9000 series combines aren't worth much regardless of how many hours are on them. Combines in general lose a lot of value very quickly no matter how new they are. That thing is going to end up being a money pit, after sitting for that long and getting use now alot of the seals are going to be leaking.

I bought a IH1440 with 800 original hours 12 yrs ago. I was looking for a bigger combine for my acres but surprisingly it does me good. I’m the only guy on our road that’s been using the same combine for the last 12 years. Newer isn’t necessarily better.
@PaulsonFarms8 ай бұрын
@@hankelrod7315 newer is always better if you can afford it. I would never go back to an older machine. With our class 7 and 40 foot draper we can knock out a quarter(160 acres) in under a day easily. We could never come close to that when we use to run an old 9600. On top of that, I would never farm without autosteer.

We can do 90 acres with a 9600 in 11 hours. Not bad for an old combine
@beaufleischhacker53628 ай бұрын
@@PaulsonFarmsclaas combines are still built better than anything. Steel is way thicker everywhere, auger, feeder house etc
@hankelrod73158 ай бұрын
@@PaulsonFarms You would wear out the head hookups attaching & detaching your header to get through 18 ft gates & bridges to get to the 3 acre fields I farm. Urban sprawl has made a real mess of things. 50 yrs ago I had bigger fields & much bigger rented farms than I do now.

Low hours is like low mileage. Means nothing in this day of inflation and people not spending 6 figures for used machines.
