1) I cast on 3 loops on the knitting needles and knitted a warm item from them. Suitable for beginners and needlewomen who are unsure of their abilities.
An elongated shirtfront can replace a full-fledged item. If you put it on a shirt, then such a shirtfront will resemble a vest.
In this master class, the shirtfront is short, approximately 20 cm long.
To knit such a collar, you need to cast on 3 loops on the knitting needles.
- 1st row. Place the first stitch on the right needle, knit, purl.
- 2nd row. Unfold the knitting. We put a crossed loop on the right knitting needle, it will expand the knitting. Next, look at the stitches - knit, purl, knit.
- 3rd row. Again we place a crossed loop on the right knitting needle. Next, look at the stitches - purl, knit, purl, knit. From this row, all knit stitches must be knitted not through the top loop, but through the jumper, which is lower. Except for the extreme facial ones.
As a result, all rows are knitted in this way - a new row begins with a crossed additional loop, which is thrown onto the right knitting needle. Next, how does the knitting look - knit stitch, purl stitch. But all the front loops are knitted behind the loop, which is located lower on the row.
- The result is a fluffy, dense elastic band, which from the corner evenly expands on both edges in the form of a triangle.
- The result is a fluffy, dense elastic band, which from the corner evenly expands on both edges in the form of a triangle.
- Due to this, the knitting is tightened, although the number of loops remains the same.
- I closed the loops in the usual way.
- The collar height can be with or without a lapel.
This is an ideal option for those who decide to knit a shirtfront using knitting needles.
Suitable for beginners and needlewomen who are not confident in their abilities.
And if you knit another hat, you’ll get a super set.
2) I don't like wearing a scarf. Instead, I sewed a warm accessory that doesn’t need to be constantly adjusted. And the work is only half an hour.
The principle of sewing is this. First you need to measure the circumference of your neck and make a small allowance. It’s even easier to wrap a scarf around your neck and see how comfortable it is, which is what I did. It remains to measure this length. You will also need to measure your shoulder length, but this is not necessary.
The height of the neck is 9 cm, when finished it will be shorter as it will turn up, it is also adjustable.
This pattern is easy to customize. Also, on the back side, the shirtfront can be made shorter than the front. The fabric should be placed on the side that stretches better. If there is no overlocker, then the seams are sewn and then processed with a zigzag.
How to sew:
- Using the pattern, I cut out two identical parts.
- I connected them with the right sides facing inward and stitched them on an overlocker.
- Then I sewed the neckline and the bottom of the shirtfront. I turned the bottom edge 1 cm and stitched it with a zigzag.
- I tried it on and turned up the neckline just right. All that remains is to make a few stitches along the side seams to attach the neckline.
- You can wear it.
When the outerwear is worn, you might think it is a turtleneck sweater.
3) I found an old jacket liner and sewed a comfortable shower jacket that protects from the wind. It's a pleasure to wear.
How to sew:
- I ripped open the front pockets, sealed the slits with non-woven fabric, then stitched them with a zigzag.
- I stitched the shoulder seams.
- I finished the edge with bias tape.
- I used an old sweater for the collar. I cut it to fit the neckline and folded it in half. The collar needs to cover the neck well enough.
- I basted the collar to the neckline and stitched it.
- I sewed a zipper on both sides from the front to the middle of the gate.
- I folded the collar and stitched it again, with the zipper located between the jersey of the collar.
- I turned it inside out and hand sewed the open part on the wrong side.
- I sewed a finishing stitch along the zipper.
Ready!
This item is convenient to wear during a massage when you have a sore throat or bronchitis, when you need to warm up well. This is why I sewed myself a shirtfront.
