Man City scored the same amount of goals as Real Madrid over both legs. Madrid put up a 90s Italian defensive masterclass. They won the pen shootout because of Rüdiger, Kepa and Lunin, they won on a tactical level. Madrid dominated both legs by scoring early and taking the lead or scoring quick after Man City scored. Man City never led in the tie for more than 10 minutes, over 2 matches. They were constantly chasing the score whilst Madrid when scoring were able to defend their lead for way longer.
