No gym, no equipment, just the forest. But how did Tarzan workout? How is it to train using only what nature provides. Are there difficulties we don't realize. How will I bushcraft a barbell with only the forest?

I love your creativity, brother. The best way to work out outdoors is by doing real work such as felling trees and chopping wood, taking care of animals, hunting, gardening, carrying hay etc. Ideally doing it the old-fashioned way without machinery. Plus swimming for fun. How about a video where you work on a small farm or homestead for a week?

I actually do this kind of stuff very much becouse i live in finland forest. What i have learned is that rocks are almost always better then branches becouse they are more stable and they improve your grip stenght in weird positions.

I know you have done a challenge where you did not sit down for a week. But have you ever thought of “floor living” such as sleeping, sitting, working/ writing, lounging, etc. all on the floor? Some people call this furniture free & have said that it has done wonders for their mobility and has led to them having a more active life style without having to try. Love your style of content btw, keep it up!

On doing pull-ups off tree branches while running from someone who knows how to do this because he was poor when he was old enough to start working out: You can either stop to climb trees every few hundred feet as you run or you can do rows off of a tree branch if there aren't any straight branches to hang from. Thought you might like the tip. Another really good upper body work-out (one of my personal favorites) is taking either a really long tree branch or a heavy tree branch and swinging it around and dancing around with it like it's a sword.

14:05 Just wanted to point out the research we have right now suggests the stretching/eccentric is the most hypertrophic part of any movement, and the whole point of Rdl/SlDl is that regular deadlifts don't stretch and focus the hamstrings and glutes as much. So get that stretch to grow more❤💪 Btw working out with a focus on getting stronger in the largest possible(comfortable) range of motion is literally physical therapy so with a focus on range of motion along with slow tempo eccentrics and mix in some stability work like pistol or dragon squats(much easier is put one leg on bench one off and side plank), upside down kettlebell or band bench to work the small stabilization muscles such as your rotator cuff or adductors and abductors you'll have the least possible chance of injury. Stay safe🙏

Feel like the missed opportunity here was in the trees. Assuming you have a forest where you can actually find trees with branches, the angles between branches allow you to perform all sorts of weird movements. If you find a decent fig tree it's basically a gym unto itself.

Strong work. My family and I go backing every fall. Best way to get a solid lift is to find a down tree and treat it like a land mind barbell. You can do squats, presses, curls, etc. Then I add a farmers walk to wrap up.

This reminds me of earlier this summer, while camping, where I explored the woods to get my workout in and record a working out in nature video for my channel. I spent a long time trying to find a proper branch for a bo staff and spent a long time trying to find a good branch for pullups, I ended up finding a basketball court and climbing up on the structure holding the hoop and using it for pullups :p

Epic video I loved the philosophical idea about is surviving out in nature basically a workout and how we are so comfortable now and can choose if we want to workout or not I honestly think about that almost everyday especially before I walk into the gym, the older I’ve gotten the more I try and find activities to do outside I live in North Carolina on the east coast and my woods look similar to yours Where abouts do you live?

besides the beautiful scenery & fresh air, those are the only benefits I can think of as opposed to a gym. weather is always changing, sun in your eyes, animals or insects are gross, loud & distracting, potential predators (either animals or people) & less to work with? this was very entertaining but did not look more beneficial. to each their own though! the outdoors can absolutely be utilized as a gym. love the videos man :) your talent, effort & passion does not go unnoticed! you deserve to be recognized more

When I was younger I used to always only workout outside ..calisthenics in the park, trail running with pushups in the woods, also went camping to the woods/beach, helping with works around the house.. and it got me fit. However now that I'm a bit older and have a regular working time job, the camping and working around the house just makes me tired and loose muscle. So I usually hit the gym to sweat and get stronger in order to be able to work around the house. It's strange that biology

Big misconception. The primary movements work all the muscles in the body in the most efficient way. They don't just make you better at bench, at squat, at deadlift, whatever. They make you stronger overall. They make you better at everything. Yes, it's harder to find that out in the forest because the barbell and dumbbell movements were invented in order to train more efficiently.

Have you seen the documentary on basque country stone lifting? "LEVANTADORES - The Basque Strongman" I watched the commentary by Zack Telander and it's an amazing must watch. The documentary is so well made, it was quite emotional. It tells the story of how the local tradition of stone lifting in basque came about naturally from working men turning heavy manual labor into competition. Production quality is great. It's on youtube. You're welcome.
