New kozilek is actually nuts. In a deck that already has colorless creatures, like eldrazi tron, you don't HAVE to give your opponent the manifest creatures. It's a double anthem for your colorless creatures, and can help push I for damage OR dig for specific answers, giving a bunch of versatility as a big tron creature.

I really enjoyed this video. The prices, although inflated, made the value of the set really pop in a way that was fun to watch. This will come down, but for the time being enjoy those big values and the fun of cracking collector boosters! Also you're right on the new Koz being the weakest, but I like it because it's the only titan that actually works as a sort of lord to your eldrazi.

Only buy multiple boxes from the same case unless u pre open one. Because the cards are almost always similar in most of the boxes. It's not always bad either bought 3 eternal masters boxes from the same case. All three had mana crypt, force of will and Jace.

I listened to Mark Rosewater's podcast once when he talked about the design of Future Sight and how they designed Grandeur as a safety valve for drawing too many of your legendary creatures. But the 5 creatures it was printed on were not constructed playable for the most part, and it almost never came up in Limited because they were all rares. I guess the common legend is kind of a reference to that. Since it's a common you can now build around Grandeur in Limited and the mechanic will finally have its moment to shine a little.

I purchased all boxes but the Collector. Plan on getting at least one a few weeks after the pricing settles.

For just about every set, I only play in the prerelease and make no other set purchases. Prerelease pack lets me open 6 packs from the set, which I think is a reasonable limit. That said, this prerelease is going to sting at $60.

Coming from an addicted packhead from back in the day, I found the best way to open packs, scientifically of course. Pull the back tab gently over and over to inflate the pack with air. While the pack is inflated, gently clap your hands together with the pack in between. It will cause the air to burst out of one of the ends of the pack, allowing you to slide the cards out without any bending or damage. Yes, I was once where you were, and trust me, with a lot of effort and help, you too can be free of this addiction. I was an addict for 10 years, and now I'm not. Good luck to anyone reading this. *continues to open hundreds of packs after writing this PSA message*

Could the tokens of real cards thing be a way of wizards getting around the reserved list in the future? If they printed black lotus tokens I'm sure ppl would use them as proxies even though they are slightly thinner than normal cards

I’m still a strong believer that there are different rarities with in the same rarity. Like I think there are commons that are printed at uncommon levels. So I think there are mythic that are even harder to get than other mythics.

I think a lot of the repeats we're seeing have to do with which cards are available in which slot. It really screws up pack opening

my routine is buy one of those $50ish bundles with 8 packs and some promos of each set, gives me a taste of the set, the nostalgia of crackin packs and hopefully a good card or 2. Beyond that I buy the occasional commander precon, good deals I happen to see or buy singles. However I am going deep on MH3. I have a play booster box, a collector booster box and the eldrazi commander deck on preorder. I might pick up the energy commander deck as well, depending what I hit in the boxes. Both eldrazi and energy are things I would love to build a commander deck around, but energy lacked sheer volume of cards and eldrazi lacked the commander with more than just colorless identity that interested me. MH3 is just a prefect storm to me, the potential to build 2 new decks I am excited for + the fetches to hopefully finish decks I have been working on... and who doesn't like the excitement of potential serialized eldrazi

I haven't bought any MH3 physical cards, as they're too expensive for me, as are most Magic cards, but I did buy the preorder on Arena. I'm excited for these cards in Brawl (especially Grist in Sidisi, Witch Enchanter in Emiel, and Goblin Soultrader in Chatterfang), and I'm thinking of building K'rrik, Kaalia, and Herrigast.

Pattern recognition is real but, yeah, that was a strangely consistent set of boxes. Doesn't necessarily mean anything about the set distribution as a whole but it definitely feels like you 'beat the odds' on this.

Opening Polluted Delta has traditionally been a good skill to have.

Let's assume, for a second, that summed prices are exaggerated, and they will lose 95 % of value. Leaving only 5 % of the price still gives a positive return on each box. IMHO, it is quite impressive, after all.

never buying anything pre-order, or sealed product in general, its such a rip off...this is all POTENTIAL value too...if you want to convert it back to cash you have to sell every value card
