I'm sitting here with a baby, my hand in my mouth and trying not to take him with my guffaw, because that looked to me like a real life questionable relationship. No direct answers, uncomfortable pet names, a certain disregard for wants and needs, yes robot but still creepy, which makes it funny. Wonder if Romi would do better in Japanese?

seeing as it probably used google translate to translate things from japanese to english I would guess it's a lot more accurate in japanese. but it will be less fun.

This episode had me in in absolute fits. I love how deadpanned aki is with Romi when she doesn’t answer her questions. “I think I’m getting more stressed as we continue this conversation.” That statement is just pain gold considering she’s talking to a robot therapist. Well, from the brief time it was talking to her in Japanese, it was getting everything spot on and correct, which kind of makes sense cause Japanese conversation robots have really good understanding about Japanese language cause they are really popular for talking to, well, at least it didn't turn into a foul mouthed hoodlum when switched to English mode.

The fact that it was responding correctly in Japanese made me wonder if the voice recognition software was optimized for Japanese, since it was sold primarily in the Japanese market, and if there is another firmware that is optimized for the English-speaking market. Would explain a lot of the funny issues Aki had with it.
