Those transitions you said you’re not a fan of, as someone with no experience video editing I think they add a cool extra dimension to the edit, but I fully get why you wouldn’t be into them if they don’t require much skill.

I think there's a time and place for everything. This was a brand deal type video that needs to look a bit more professional and they just didn't hold up on the clean factor like it could have potentially done. I don't believe the guy did a bad job, I think his style is just more meant for something a bit more relaxed.

I absolutely agree, this is waaay less than minimum wage in the UK (and probably elsewhere in the free world). The film making business is undermined if you can't even afford to buy a pizza with the proceeds of your work and talent at this rate.

Yeah, I agree. Kon is a rare quality youtuber. Although his name is a bit of a pain in the arse to find everywhere. Do you have a link to his merch, or does he just not have any? I've been searching around for the past 10 minutes trying to find something, but there's so many other russian guys and even some asian guys who have the same names. :)

The last guy is very talented. That one is the one that really sold the brand. Great track with that buildup and then a really neat drop. Some really awesome shots in there, really felt like a proper professional advertisement you’d see on TV or KZfaq. Totally worth his original price. Hope you gave him a nice tip he deserves it!

Are you sure the left in watermark wasn't intentional? There's so much effort been put in to that edit, that to miss the watermark, seems odd. The whole angle of it was lo-fi and disruptive. One example being the obviously left in transparent background. That transparent background is obvious to you, a creative, but not to the layman. I reckon that particular editor just took things to the next level by leaving in the watermark, with an intentional 'who gives a f***' style.

Also could be that the first revision is just the 'idea'. They probably felt it wasn't worth it to pay for the image yet if the buyer hasn't confirmed they like the effects/cut. Most likely they'd deliver without the watermark.

You should do workshops Kon once this coronavirus is done, I've been wanting to learn about photography, video and editing for the longest time. I travel quite a bit and just know my photography could be 100 times better with your guidance. I love your videos and think you have mad skills and talent. @@cerving20 lol I do I am an editor myself, even tho it's hobby and I don't try freelance. We can't tell how much footage he gave to the editors, but I believe it's not longer then a hour right? Watching the clips for a couple minutes enough to get the idea what kind of song will suit, you find it (can be 1 sec or even hour) and then the editing, the one for 5$ was just the clips and no color correction if I remember right so its 1 hour of editing.
