That was one of the most beautifully done videos I have ever seen! Thank your daughter so much for allowing her story to be told through you. I was in tears at times, imagining the pain that you both have gone through! I have written letters and burn them in the past, but never thought about incorporating the ashes of that writing into my art. Omg as the past week I’ve been trying to deny what things I suspect of my own daughter- why? Because she is only 10 years old- my baby girl. As a single mom the fear of what may be happening and what may happen when she herself feels that shame. It’s terrifying! The SA, the self harm, bullying and peer pressure is horrendous with these kids

If you suspect something is wrong, trust your gut. A mother’s heart is rarely wrong. My daughter was 8 years old when this happened to her but her behaviors (doing bad in school, skipping school, drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, self harm, depression, desperate for attention, etc) really started showing up when she was turning into a teenager. I later was told by social services that this is typical of abused children. They start exhibiting these destructive behaviors until they reach the age of puberty after they realize what happened to them years ago. Please dig in deeper and find the truth. Talk to her and ask her over and over until you find the truth. But most of all, never stop showing her your love and never give up. ❤
