I was a fan of True Blood and watching Deborah Ann Woll and Joe Manganiello play DnD in their Force Grey mini campaign (along with the others, but I didn't know them then... not even Matt Mercer) is what got me to jump out of my nerd closet after 25 or so years of hiding in it. And honestly, changed many aspect of my life. So I do actually owe a great deal of my happiness to Joe

I was there watching the end of Critical Role, campaign 1, when Joe, as Arkhan pulled that face heel turn and stole the hand of Vecna under the party's noses, and teleported out. That was wild. So cool to see such a cool character get such an awesome sculpt. Excellent paint job Jon.

There’s no wonder why Joe Mangianello hasn’t been invited back since and why most people won’t play with him anymore. He ruined crit role season 1 as a stand in character and took a massive dump on the table that had been played out for over 100 hours over the span of many months. He’s a monster.

@@markherring3513 Generally powerful magic items, like the artifact that is the Hand of Vecna, require time to attune to the item. Attuning reqires a short rest, which in most campaigns is 2 hours, though I've seen it as low as 15 minutes in some campaigns. But the general idea is that you can't just pick up a magic item and immediately use all of its powers. I'm assuming that's what is against the rules of what he did? I'm not really a Critical Roll guy myself.

You are one of the reason's I will never give up on painting / art + you also keep making the content that pulled me in so I like to keep coming back and seeing what your up to. I fly racing drones, 3d print, build water PC's, and I manage IT for an ISP, so I have 0 time. I see why you guys call your hobby THE HOBBY, but I have almost everything you ever said was worth buying and put it all in a huge portable case you suggested, so I could rent a cabin in the woods and smile out the rest of my days if I wanted. seriously, thank you. :)

Looks cool, and I like hearing about young Jon. despite living across the pond I guess growing up in that time period was quite a universal experience. I hope you hear back from Joe, I painted the first eons of battle monthly miniature and they featured it on their channel, it may not seem like much but it made me smile from ear to ear, guys like Jay are like rockstars to me so it was so cool to see my work appreciated by him... and my insta went crazy in terms of follower count for about 24 hours which was a nice bonus :)

I just got into mini painting this past year so our D&D group could have some little versions of us to just throw on the table and look at. It has evolved into all kinds of monsters, characters and terrain, we use them sometimes in complicated battles but mostly they are just to look at and get the vibe going. I paint for the relaxing zen fun. Your friendly nature and easy, to the point style along with the fact I am a fellow Jon and would go to the library to play magic after school because we were afraid to play there and get teased, this intro has made you my absolute favorite in this new to me world of youtube mini painters. Thank you! Amazing paint job, and I can't wait to see how Joe reacts!
