Yeah it's pretty strong, and the higher devotion the stronger the demon. There's a mele and ranged dmg one, a living bomb that does one big hit per room, one that will randomly bring you back hearts to heal, one that increases your health for the run (that you can sacrifice to ratous bro for a perma half heart) and one that collects your crown energy for you.

Yeah when I was editing I reflected that i really should've tried fleeces. I rejected them out of hand without really thinking about it but when I was rereading what they do, I agree with what you're saying. If you play right you can negate the debuff aspect.
