Make sure you go Reformed! The mission tree gives 1.5x fervor abilities if you do! War focus alongside Defensive ideas (which the mission tree also gives extra unique bonuses for) is +30% morale of armies lol.

Playing tall is one of my favorite activities in EU4, and seeing Laith trying to accomplish that is always a joy. Please continue the capitalistic swamp german empire, and get some cloves to overflow your treasury. Oh and Laith, they are more Reformed than Protestant in case you want to know that. 😄

Funny thing is, you don't even need to colonize as the Dutch. If you play it right, you can just buy provinces in Africa, India and Indonesia from the AIs. And since you PU Britain usually, they can colonize North America for you. So it's generally better to go for something like quantity to beef up your army and make use of the 20% goods produced policy with trade ideas.

Use the missions to PU England, and go for Reformed!

you prolly didnt notice but that dutch specific goverment reform you took from that event gives you acces to dutch specific ships...you should really build them if you plan to continue playing this game cuz they are id say best ships in the game...and since we are talking about reforms, parlamentarism as reform is bad cuz it takes the nobles away and you can get parlament later in case you dont get acces to it via sth else and still keep nobles, the same tier has supremacy of the diet which imo is TOP unless you are stacking absolutism. with that you can and prolly will summon the diet on cd cuz it wont give estates influnce and grants you free RT (not much but still..) and that line about elections influencing estates is kind of trap cuz youd think it might be bad but the only thing it actually does is give you loyalty depending on your choice of reelection and nothing else unless you are trade republic...

IK it's a small thing but seeing ppl have idle diplomats while playing HRE minors makes me die inside a little. Diplomat microing is cancer but as HRE minor its sadly essential for faster expansion. Better to micro than spending first 50 years afk and taking an odd province or two. Nations can't join a coalition if they love you too much (above 0 is enough). And making them leave is much harder than that (reaching +50)
