I honestly don't understand how this happens, the groups of strings are out of tune with each other. When my piano goes out of tune each note usually goes out of tune as a whole not with each of the 3 strings going to a different sound. The piano i play has strings that are over 100 years old at this point though. It does have some quirks because of that and i've been wondering if thats one of them

The last time I used that piano at QVB, the piano lid was damaged and some of the keys were messed up (doesn't make a sound or out of tune).

You can do it too, just practice a lot and you will develop muscle memory and u will be able to know where and when to hit the notes

Public pianos are out of tune quite a lot. There are tuners that tune them but they don't do it all that often

I love the playing, but I wish they could get a tuner to that piano like, once a year or something. I know it could be expensive, but I'm sure they could have a sign with a qr code to donate to a fund for it or something. I'm sure many people there who enjoy playing or listening to the piano would chip in a few bucks for it.
