@@reubenzuidema6656 i can coop, but there are are issues often and cannot get coop to work with halo 1. The issues are pretty well known too if you just look up MCC pc connection issues. No attempts have been made to fix it since it released on steam.

Yes. Things like trees being a lot thinner, and you end up shooting invisible wall because original graphic tree is much fatter. Not to mention that updated graphics really fails to portray original atmosphere in a lot of places. Halo 2 upgraded graphics are a lot more faithful tho and there's no issues playing it on updated graphics.

To give rough context as to why people prefer CE on old graphics: Essentially, despite the new graphics being good, it's not very faithful to the original. Instead of being a "remaster", a lot of the graphics were completely changed instead of being updated. The biggest problem with the graphics for most people is just how intensive everything is. To give an example, the 2nd level starts off with the player discovering Halo. The original had a simplistic background, with the main focus being the huge Halo Ring. The anniversary graphics has so much going on, that it loses focus on the ring. A lot of it also pertains to atmosphere. In an attempt to make the game somewhat more friendly, a lot of it was really brightened up, which takes out the fun of missions like 343 Guilty Spark and the Library. A lot of the Reach models for many different things also don't work well with the original CE models, leading to some really weird looking models. It's decently good graphics, just not faithful enough to capture the true essence of the original that many people love

Can confirm, in new graphics they actually get rid of a boulder in one of the missions but since the collision is still there you'll end up hitting it when you try to fire rockets at a wraith.

Can confirm, was flying a Banshee in a later level and rammed into a bit of a side of a mountain that was sticking out that wasn't there.

Well, excuse me for preferring everything looking more colorful and visually appealing compared to the OG (with the exception of 343GS, which ONLY looks good with the bleak lack of color in comparison).

@@flixytip4571 it really isnt because of nostalgia, because a different studio did the halo 2 anniversary remaster and the visuals for that one outclasses the original in EVERY way, without ruining the feeling and atmosphere of the original. and im much more nostalgic for halo 2 than i am for halo ce. halo ce anniversary takes away the atmosphere in much of the levels and makes everything way too bright and overly detailed. 343 Guilty Spark is the worst example of this, they made it a much prettier level (the most gorgeous in the whole remaster actually) at the expense of the ominous and foreboding atmosphere being completely trashed.

What people like myself don’t like about the anniversary graphics is mainly how they took the enemy models from reach, scaled them down, a place them on the Halo CE models. This doesn’t look good because you get things like Hunters or Jackals without necks or UNSC marines with ranger uniforms. Also the older graphics are just easier on the eyes and easier to identify your surroundings

@@superjchamma maybe it’s just me then, halo 2 will always be my favorite halo and ce was never really at the top of my list so I don’t really care for the old graphics.

I don't think saying "old graphics were better" is correct, the texture quality in remaster is clearly better. HOWEVER, I do agree that certain area's lose a lot of their charm when playing them remastered, 343 guilty spark loses too much of it's fog, the levels in the snow area are much less foggy and with no weather effects, and hunters look weird (their weak spot is covered for some reason, even though ingame it's still a weak spot). There is also the obvious issue of how some of the remaster textures do not line up properly, resulting in some clipping; though it was very rare when I replayed Combat Evolved with remaster. I think the old graphics have better art direction while the new graphics have better fidelity. Remaster is prettier but the old graphics often set the mood better. Just my two cents.

Hey quick tip for you Don’t get it on pc Right as you get to the main world all the pc graphics go to shit and any smooth gameplay you had before is gone and it’s like you put your pc into a meat grinder and tried to play halo with it Just save up for the new Xbox as I will now be doing that It is literally unplayable at that point to the point I can’t kill a grunt right in front of me

halo infinite is very different than the others' campaigns

As someone who doesn’t like 4 and 5 I gotta tell you Infinite is a very fun game and feels like a better sequel to 3 than 4 was. Unfortunately because of it being free to play a lot of content is missing from multiplayer. The story itself is fun and the characters are way more interesting than what we got in 343’s previous attempts.

Infinite is great, it’s a bit rough around the edges but overall a very fun game that has the spirit of the originals

I remember HATING CE when I played on Anniversary settings. I decided to go back after a while on classic graphics and I can safely say it’s one of my favorite Halo games. Graphics really can contribute to making or breaking the experience.
