In this video I play the content creator preview of the upcoming Medieval city builder and war game Manor Lords. In this game we must survive the harsh winters, the raids of multiple bandit leagues and claim our stake to all the land. Will we survive or will our people kill us with their requests for Ale.

@@AbsoluteHabibi These's little tea or coffee growing naturally in Europe, and at the same time Europeans have managed to make alcohol from anything sweet and most grains. It's hard to not consume when there are so many sources, especially when pollution in bigger towns meant that often the water made people sick.

@@AbsoluteHabibi the actual answer is calories, nutrients, and longer shelf life. The beer of the middle ages was very low in alcohol, with a "strong" beer being 2% abv (most modern beer is 4.5-5% abv). For reference beer almost has the same caloric content as pure fat. And middle ages beer was unfiltered so you got all the yeast and hops particles to add more calories and nutrients. It's also more efficient than bread, you get about 2 liters of beer from the same amount of grain in a single loaf of bread.
