It's a double edged sword: if to many top players pick Steve it will probably get him banned, but if everyone plays Steve then the Steve counterplay meta could get developed to a point where Steve wouldn't be considered as viable.

Yeah.. I tried Steve as well for the first time for a whole day and I wasn't on the train that Steve is *that* op but after just toying with him he's really..really dumb, he does too much too easily is the problem. Like if the stuff he did was legit hard it would be fine, or more fine. I main Seph so I never had much of a problem against him.

I have beaten Steve in a one vs one tournament online with bowser jr and my final opponent was an incenoroar either he would get beaten by Steve or me. The tournament had only two stocks and my opponent got diamond picaxe on his last stock and I still beat him.

Steve is such an interesting character to me (not sarcasm). He’s got a lot of technical stuff that you need to know to be good, but the moment you know that technical stuff, his game plan becomes the most simple and glue-eating strategy in the game. Fascinating how that worked out I hate to say it…but it makes me wanna play steve
