okay but that nordVPN ad is genuinely misleading. a VPN won't make your connection to the ISP faster - it can only lower from that maximum, in fact. the only way a VPN would help is if your ISP deliberately throttles the connection to that specific site.

Not true, internet moves through the cheapest path instead of the fastest, so your pc - vpn server - website server connection can be faster than your pc - website server connection if the original connection was very bad

@@DomiaAbrWyrda if your pc to the site has a cheap path, then the site to the vpn would use the same path... Its not going to just decide the vpn is special and give it preferential treatment, more likely the servers being elsewhere would result in something slower. A man in the middle will always have equal or worse latency, unless you are actively avoiding a specific throttle for your device only which isn't exactly common. Vpns aren't magic, and for 90% of people are worthless and sold on almost entirely false advertising unfortunately

@willowkay A - B connection can be slower than A - C - B, especially if it's across oceans It can be that the local isp doesn't have a good contract to deal with traffic from a certain location, or a certain link which was fine before can be saturated and a vpn can deal with that by using an alternative path

I don't see a way of winning something like the Garden one if you reveal your draw ack to your opponent. Unless they have some kind of drawback like only moving one square at a time.

→ 0:12 Sailnir is very persistent with their suggestion. → 1:20 I guess a VPN can help when your local internet is good, but the international connection is bad (and somehow the VPN provider has their own lines). But if your local connection is bad, a VPN won't help. → I think the goal of most of the suggestions was to play the same moves on both boards. I don't think this works well with drawback chess, at least when you show your drawback.

What's the point of playing both games at once if you make different moves? I guess, time trouble might occur, but let's be serious, with revealing your drawback, it's clear those games won't last very long anyway. Also, isn't the whole point of the challenge you trying to win both? If you can just leave one game hanging hoping the opponent leaves that's just playing one game and makes you a coward

Revealing the drawbacks is a bad idea, for making entertaining videos I mean. For most drawback it seems to simply ruin the game. Maybe if it at least offered the option to only reveal if the opponent also is willing, but still too many drawbacks made under the assumption that the opponent doesn't know.
