Bro, people been talking crap about VW Jetta for years… I am yet to experience one issue with my 2012 VW Jetta SE.. matter of fact I am doing some mods on mine.. I buy all aftermarket parts for my car.. you treat your car well and it will treat you well

I'm with you on that, my short time of owning one has been mostly positive.

I just bought 2012 Jetta S. Looking to do one or two mods to it. Any suggestions? Would love to see a pic!
@cevanfx40Ай бұрын
I absolutely love the sleek look of the Jetta. Im just scared of the computer issues ive been reading about. If the comp goes out ive heard you can only take it to a VW dealer for.repairs and they rape you on the charges.

I have a 2015 GLI, ive owned it for almost 7 years now, my only main issue was when I got a tank of watered down gas that killed my high pressure fuel pump and messed up my plugs, after that fix she's been running fine, i keep up with my regular service intervals and oil changes, other than tires i haven't had any other major purchases, if you take care of your vehicle properly it will last you for a long while. Good luck with your Jetta

@@austinledrew9403 at 235k miles and still haven't change fluid or built based on miles cause you don't need to. Mileage is more of an inspection point for certain parts.

2.5 is a great engine. It also takes a lot of oil, 6.3 Quarts. PCV issues are really the only common problem. It has a large trunk! weird issues like Ignition barrel, door actuators can happen. I have 235000 on my 2011.
@starmember1322 ай бұрын
My ‘13 jetta se its just about to hit 136k miles. No engine nor trans problems (mines the 09g auto), just basic maintenance. Only “costly” repairs Ive done is throttle body and manifold replacement, crankshaft position sensor, and n80 purge valve, other than that, I haven’t touched anything.
@wandameadows573611 ай бұрын
Ones with the 2.5 & 09G Aisin Trans are great. Others, the TDI version, with the smaller turbo engines & direct injection have carbon issues & timing belts where as the 2.5 has a chain. There's also some with the DGS trans that are expensive to replace so make sure it's been maintained. These cars are popular with mod enthusiast & even the smaller turbos are good if they are maintained. These cars are fun to drive & they remind me of the 1990s early 2000s Euro style bodys you'd see in America & they are very safe & comfortable for such a small car. The main issues are emissions crap.

Recent reviews on this vehicle aren’t many thanks. Most are saying they get 35 instead of rated 45 mpg. If your’s is a hybrid what mpg are you getting? Concidering the savings maybe its worth it for the performance.

A Non Turbo VWwill last FOREVER. It’s the turbo engines before the EA888 that gave VW a bad rep.

133k miles are not high miles. I was expectring 160k+
@NewClassicCarReviews Жыл бұрын
For the year, 133k miles is right about where the average vehicle would be at so I can partially agree with your statement. Flip side, especially when you factor in future maintenance cost, "wear and tear" parts and potential warranty options, most people would lean towards something with less miles if they had a choice.
