And yet our Army continues on with this foreign tradition while neglecting to incorporate Indian traditions. This is me blaming the Indian Army, not the Britishers. In case you are unaware, there is an entire national discourse going on right now that centers around de-colonizing the minds of Indians. The de-colonization of Indian Armed Forces is a subset of this greater discussion. And no, this is not just some twitter trend I am talking about. The Prime Minister of India has stated this as one of the goals that India needs to achieve before 2047. Kindly try to understand the context in which I made the comment. This is just one example. Many such examples exist and the government is gradually changing such Indian military norms that still reek of British colonial influence. Case in point: recent changes to the Naval flag, uniforms and rank names.

Not really for the army It was indeed intended to be used in circus for the gladiators but whenever something went wrong they basically closed the curtain and send clowns to keep the audience entretained while the situation was resolved and thats where the use as "clown music" came from

Besides, there are a lot of videos where March of the Gladiators (the name of the music) is playing over a lot of other marches, including those of Western countries. Indian soldiers were part of world war 1, world war 2, Korean war . Actively participate in peacekeeping missions across Africa, . We have lost only one war since independence. But according to west or these so called modern people we are weak. Our soldiers also perform their duty in temperatures as low as - 50 .

Every soldier suffers in the world, not just your supposed patriotic guys. And I think that the US has pilots who fly at very high altitude too. And, you have to see how Russian troops survive in the freezing cold but stay motivated.

Old tradition. From colonial era. Taught to the Indians by the British. The Brits have since done away with this tradition. But not the Indians.
