I also ran into the same issue with my yardages with my long irons overlapping... If I flushed my 7 if can go as far as my 6. My 6 and 5 iron I miss-hit too much so I lose yardage so they ended up going the same as my 7 iron... So I sold my 5 iron and replaced it with a 7 wood which I love!! Good height and distance so it stops quicker on a green than my 5 iron did. Basically I went with a 60, bent 55, 50, 46, I9, I8, I7, I6, 7W, 5W, 3W, Draw Driver and Fade Driver. I love my bag now and recently broke 80 for the second time this season! Also if you want to save some money, just sharpen your wedge grooves every couple of months.

For stock yardages, shouldn't we be focused on the carry yardages and not total?

Gabby - man I love watching your videos. The enthusiasm you have to learn about and play the game is contagious. One small piece of advice - focus on your carry yardages more than total distance. You want to know where you ball will land when making club selections, particularly to cover hazards / waste areas with confidence. Not suggesting total yardage is irrelevant, it's important, but a secondary consideration. Keep getting after it!

Hi Gabi, I’m older (59) now so I use a 12 degree mini driver now. I hit it a max 270 (I use to hit a driver over 300), 3 wood 240, 5 wood 225.

That mini driver is sweet, hottest club this year. I like you can turn the hardcover inside out and get a colorful surprise. Taylormade fan as well, I don’t play as much as you so I keep my wedges a while. That 🐕 at the end was a great way to close out.

Stock yardage carry based on GC3 averaged on about 40 shots per club: 60° : 83 yds 56° : 94yds 52° : 110yds PW (46°) : 128yds 9i : 138 yds 8i : 149yds 7i : 168yds 6i : 181yds 5i : 189yds 4i : 201yds 3h: 210yds 3w: 232yds D: 255yds Driver SS: 109-116mph Longer clubs definitely has more ±variance depending on strike but depending on the day my ball striking can be all over the place.

Idk bro, 800-900 xtra rpm is nice, but any noticable variation is so minimal imo. There's definitely a slight difference, but ime it hasn't been anything game changing. Not that it stops me from buying new wedges tho. I literally just got a brand new Vokey cuz my old lob wedge was worn asf, but idk if that slight xtra backspin on the green is worth a new wedges every 6 months. Definitely improves confidence tho😂

Mini driver is an awesome addition... I got fitted for a new driver recently that goes farther than my old driver and the shot shape is straight or fades right. I attempted to build a mini driver using a full sized head with a 3 wood shaft which sorta worked, however the shot shape was inconsistent. I ended up using a 44" shaft light weight shaft and tweaked the face angle so now it is dead straight or has a baby 5 -10 yard draw which is what I wanted for tight fairways and dog leg lefts. It doesn't go as far as my main driver by 10 - 20 yards, however it is more accurate than my 3 wood which I can't always control the shot shape.

I think she knows more than most college golfers and maybe a few pros!

I think there will be a mini driver in my bag soon. My favourite driver still remains my Persimmon Mizuno MS and have never liked the oversized drivers.

The height of your shots is controlled by several things. The most obvious are the club head loft and club head speed. Shot launch height is also controlled by the bend point in the shaft. A lower bend point in the shaft will result in higher ball flight. A higher bend point will result in lower ball flight. So when you are selecting steel or graphite shafts it is a good idea to know where is the flex point in the specific shaft, low, medium, or high. You can get the higher ball flight just by selecting a lower bend point in the shaft. Love the fact that you are trying to figure it all out.

Im smashing some old Macgregor irons and i love them. Got them by crazy happenstance. Started swinging them for fun and ended up falling in love with them at address. So i decided to hit them and I crush them. So now I'm playing old Macgregor MX Midsize irons😂

I have roughly a 10 yd gap (give or take a yd or two) between clubs, starting with my 58* at about 95 yds. I play G430 irons, so they’re a bit on the stronger lofted side, so I have an extra wedge at 45*, which is my 130 yd club. Like you, I get a bit more inconsistent around 6-iron, but on my good swings, it goes about 180-185. This past winter, I opted to ditch the 4&5 irons in favor of hybrids, and doubt I’ll ever look back. 4 hybrid goes about 210 for me. Then I have a 5-wood (225 yds), and I’m gaming the Qi10 Max this year, which, on average, goes about 265. Every once in a while, I’ll get one flush that’ll creep up toward 290, but doesn’t happen often. Today I had one at 286, but the rest were closer to the 265 mark, dipping as low as 235 when I get those high fading spinners (I use a Garmin S70 to track shot distance). I’ve given up on using a 3-wood. Just too inconsistent on the flight. One of these days, I’ll do a gapping session to get carry yardages, but right now I’m guessing my carry yardages are roughly 5-10 yds shorter, depending on the loft of the club.

Somehow i ended up in your channel after watching replays on PGA tour. Not being a smart ass but i just want to comment on your swing. If you want more carry maybe you need to give it a little bit more ass going back and give that forward swing a snap. Your right leg is straight. Just bend that knee a little bit more. I dont know if it will work for you, Maybe. Who knows. A coach once said to me "Imagine how mike tyson throws that right hook, now convert that to a swing" You are very talented by the way.
