I decided to quit my job after I realized these 3 lessons. Although I "heard" of these 3 things before, they never clicked inside my head until these events happened in my life. My goal is to share my experiences with you in hopes that this video will be more than just "sounds" coming from your speakers or "words" on a screen. I hope these lessons can inspire you to do what you truly want to do.

Hey friends, one of the reasons I was able to quit my job is because I've been building my side hustles while working full time. If you're thinking of quitting, you NEED to have some financial security and a backup plan - and a great side hustle can provide both. I know you think you can't build a side hustle while working a job but let me be the first to tell you, YOU CAN. Here are my secret strategies that allowed me to grow my side hustle while working full time. These are the exact things I did that allowed me to utlimately quit and pursue my dreams: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eN10dch_za2dnKc.html

Get a job at MSFT there for 120k.. 3. DUH Choose a job where you like the environment, happy with the pay, and are internally driven/stimulated, not drained.

1. Jobs are a two way street. It benefits your employer but it also benefits you. Vincent was making $120K a year. If he saved 1/3rd of that for just ten years, he could retire. 2. Of course you're replaceable. All the more reason you need to be smart and save, save and save some more. You want to get to the point where you can live off the interest your money generates 3. I'd say it's more like, don't get controlled by things. Don't by a brand new Tesla. Don't get the giant $1 million McMansion. Because then you'll be working your whole life to pay those things off.

I also think some people romanticise this sentence a lot... like, well, isn't that the purpose of employment? It's not like you're building someone else's dream for free, that's why they're paying you to do so! lol I get the no-romantic part of the sentence though, but I also think it's totally fine for you to be technically and career-wise satisfied by being paid (obviously) for your work!

I studied hard to grab a position in one of the Big4 companies. I was excited to work but I was working 18 hours a day to finish jobs that were meant for an experienced person. I started ignoring my family just like you and months later when I reached home - I saw my dad skinny and diagnosed with cancer. He is illiterate and he didn't even know what cancer patients look like. Believe me, I regret taking this job. If I was home I'd be early to recognise it and he could be saved but now he is taking his last breaths. Family comes first! No job will ever replace your family.

My dude....this is exactly my life right now. Working my ass off doing tax at a Big 4 accounting firm. Worked so hard in college to get here only to come to the same realization as you did. I served 8 years in the army and I thought working for corporate America was the dream. I wanted to wear the suits, I wanted to have to the corporate dinners, I wanted to work in the tallest building...and now 3 years in I almost completely lost who I was before this job. I get anywhere from a 15-25% salary increase every year but I no longer care about that. i want a career with purpose to it. I want a career where I can see the outcome of what I put in. As much as it scares me to admit this to my wife and family I really want to pursue a career in firefighting to bring back that sense of purpose and selfless service that I miss so much. Corporate America does not give a single fuck about me

The unfortunate issues is that the other market are being decimated. If you want to stay green ,you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 15% and being carful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

Inflation is going to gradually going to become part of us and due to the fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest decline in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people ever enough money to retire.

I've lived in my car twice in my life and was able to rebuild both times. I was uncomfortable for awhile, sure. But I didn't starve, I didn't die, and it wasn't permanent. To quote Rush's song Tom Sawyer, "he knows changes aren't permanent, but change is." Do NOT let your standards drop no matter what. Don't lay around and wallow. Even if you have nowhere to go, get up, get dressed, stay on top of your personal hygiene, and exercise. Set your alarm to limit the hours you sleep to 8 maximum and the hours you spend watching KZfaq or surfing the internet. Depression is a trap, don't step in it. Wishing you good health, wealth and happiness, brother.

I can really relate to this. I was an econ major in college (first-gen student) and was planning to go into finance, but early on I knew that my own mental health would make the punishing work culture unbearable, and I knew I needed a strong purpose in my work to feel motivated. I've always tried to be of service to others, and my jobs so far have been at advocacy and social service organizations that do really meaningful work in the community. I use the free time I have to take care of myself and pursue my creative interests, and I feel like I'm mapping out the darkened path one step at a time at my own pace, which has allowed me to grow in unexpected ways. Thanks for sharing your story.

Y’all just need to learn how to save $ and not spend ur money on stuff you don’t need ! I’m at the stage of my life ( age 24) making 495k a year after taxes , living in Seattle, WA. And that’s decent money I make for a normal life . Sure 485k is not A LOT OF MONEY , however it’s more than enough for a normal life . I been making over 300k since I was 20 years old so about 4 years now and I don’t go around spending my money buying em anything and everything that I don’t really need . I spent my money on the house that I bout and it’s nothing special medium size 4 bedroom house that I paid cash for and it cost me 750k cuz houses are too damn expensive in Seattle and I bought my self Nissan 350Z and Toyota 4Runner ! Now I could have went and bought me an Audi R8 , Ferrari , Lamborghini or what ever other car and I could cash it out , or instead of paying the full price on the house I got and bought my self huge house and use the 700k ( cash) as a down payment and than pay mortgage every month and still owe millions on it but why would I do that ??? That’s just throwing ur money away trying to live large , or impress ppl or what ever . No need for that at all ! So guys KNOW UR WORTH DONT EVER SETTLE FOR LESS ! This is my standard and if the company can’t comply with my job requests I’m not taking that job . I like to work early 6,7 AM I want my lunch to be paid for and I only work 32 hrs a week . On top of that I also have to make 100k + in 3 months or I’m not taking that job . I guess I like to work like I’m in Germany and not USA , cuz over there your full work week is 32hrs however if u compare salary , in Germany you get paid more working a day less than we get paid here in USA doing the same job and working 40 hrs a week . So guys know ur worth and don’t settle for less you guys .

Don't quit your job until you are comfortable with whatever you are doing on the side, financially and emotionally. I have a few friends who have done this to focus on KZfaq full time or twitch or a side project. The goal is to make your side project your main project.. also wealth doesn't come over night. Too many people nowadays pick something, work on it for a day, and quit because they're not rich. Alot of people don't know that these people who have made a living doing what they want to be doing have been at it for awhile and probably started part time. Also, your observation about the person in the building who suddenly disappeared and made you realize that we are all replaceable is true. I had a close colleague recently die in a tragic car accident and life went on. His position was replaced 3 weeks later. It kind of sickened me and made me realize i was just as replaceable despite working so hard and being a top producer. Wow this story really resonated with me. I feel like the Asian family “guilt” isn’t talked about a lot and can be really heavy on those first/ second generation Asian Americans. My story is the same as yours. Parents moved from Hong Kong for a better life. I graduated a rocket scientist and got a job as an aerospace engineer. My parents were so proud, and because they felt proud, I felt like I was finally “worthy”. Ended up depressed and suicidal and went to therapy. the best piece of advice I got from my therapist was “ask yourself who’s life are you living?” This made me realize that I was loving my parents dream life, not mine. It was a hard realization to make, but a very important one. I’m quitting my terrible cog wheel job this month. I feel lost, I feel scared, but I also feel free. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

I've heard and read variations of these sentiments many, many times, and I do agree with finding purpose in the area of our life that is financially rewarding. However, we can work with purpose. We can have a job and find reward outside of that job, also. We are more than employees: we are individuals, sons, partners, parents, friends, etc. We are more than the work we do. When you become a parent your mindset shifts to ensure your child has security and security is a must. We all have dreams. Many are unrealized (right now), but until you know what it is you really want and can deliver, I say find gratitude in the doing: whatever that is right now. There's always the bigger picture and sometimes it's helpful to see our wider community view and how what we do contributes to that greater good.

Well, I'm not opposed to be hired though. My dream quite ironically require money. It's not a huge amount, but enough to be problematic to attain. Gotta pay though, otherwise I'll find the door.

Great and profound post Vincent. I had the ‘ah ha’ moment at 25 years old. Had the company car, nice home, salary, (mortgage, credit card) etc, but sat in church and thought “is this it? Is this the next 40 years of my life?” So I stepped away from it, moved to Asia and found my purpose. It’s been bumpy and often other times amazing, but I wouldn’t change that decision. Now at 60 my life is making another big change and I know it’s going to be ok. So, I hope your video encourages others to take that unknown path and find their fulfillment.

I worked 5 years 120-150k a year 60-70 hours a week (sometimes more). and I spent every penny on buying real estate with my wife. I sacrificed 5 years of my life (didn't travel, bought nothing, barely any holidays)because I grew up with nothing. I was fearful of being homeless. Today I own my 2 apartments. One in which I live, and another one I rent. Both fully paid off. We are thinking of getting a 3rd apartment around Christmas. My life is so much better today... I am not as anxious as I used to be. Today I scaled down on the amount of work I do, started taking naps during the day, quit coffee. Currently, trying to quit alcohol as well. Sometimes you have no choice, if you are able to land a 6-figure job, milk the moment, you might never get such an opportunity again to escape poverty.

Did you buy the whole apartment building or a space?

@@yophilli no just separate apartments in different locations. An apartment building is a couple of millions, I don't have that kind of money.
