This is the kind of things I totally miss about the sims. Having an impact on the sims lives and seeing the impact. Plus, everything you do has consequences. The sims 4 could never, without mods. So sad truly

Even with mods, the economy is fake and tends not to exist outside your active family. Like if you hire someone in Sims 4 they aren’t actually making any money even if you pay them. They are just an avatar of the game playing waiter or cashier or whatever.

@@TheDawnofVanlife All of this is true. I agree with your comment. The only thing I meant by my comment is that without the modding community the Sims 4 is unbearable to play. Just giving the modding community their props because they are what’s holding Sims 4 up and everyone knows.

@@RayBMore.I play on play station without the use of mods. It isn't unbearable. It isn't as cool but the game isn't horrible.

As a late comer to Sims 4 (still love Sims 2) I played base game for several months and the only mod I had was MC Command Center and I really only used it because I wanted to control the fate of a few births. I will say, once I got deep into more of the possible mods there was no going back to an unmodded game. Now I get into about 5 minutes of vanilla and find I can’t play without mods. That being said, if you play without mods you don’t know any different. Once you get really into them and they change core gameplay for the better (like little ms sam and Lumpinos mods) there is no going back. A few of Ravasheens modded objects are honestly such game changers I really could not imagine my game without them. There are mods I have cycles out tho and ones (just like some regrettable pack purchases) I barely to never play with. Like ‘life tragedies’ can be great for temp drama but I find keeping it on a bit much.

Please keep doing these, I forgot how many cool businesses you can run in Sims 2. And yes I love that the economy is REAL, the sims who pay you actually pay you and retain changes. Really if Sims 2 added universal time progression, it would be just about perfect. Also I’d love to see you run a live in business.

There is a story progression mod that allows for town progression that includes the add on towns like downtown and the vacation spots as well. I came across it earlier this year on accident and it's the best thing ever

And idk for sure if it's the story progression mod there is also one that syncronizes the time clock from lot to lot. So if you leave the lot at 9 am and you head back home at 6 you may get home a little after 6 because the Sims 2 factors in travel time already

@@asmayayo do they? Let me check my mods folder to see if I have the community project one because I don't have any issues at all. Maybe I just have SP and that's what fixes the time between lots? I'm going to check cause now I'm curious.

@@ImDirtyDani I read that on lazy duchess’ discord and I decided to play with both mods in my game. But I had encountered a lot of bugs mainly when my sims would visit another household. I can hear them in the background but I’d would be stuck on the loading screen. I know that the mod is still in Beta, so I’m praying that these issues will get fixed.

I really like that it gives you an option to pick what the sim looks like, and how the sim is actually edited like that/will stay like that after styling.

This is what I love about the Sims 2. It was made with so much love and attention to detail. It lacks in the graphics and quantity in building aspects, but it makes up for what the Sims 4 doesn’t have.

@@michaeljbowker9782 Well, The Sims 2 being 32-bit does have its challenges in the graphics department. I guess some of us just enjoy a touch of nostalgia, while others prefer their Sims looking like they stepped out of a cartoon. Different strokes for different folks, right?

I honestly think the graphics and animations hold up pretty well. Like I never think ‘dated’ when I play Sims 2. Mostly cause I see it as its own cool little world.

I freaking love the detail small details in ts2, like the clock changing every now and then and them cleaning the styling chair before the customer sits on... You know this game was made with love ❤

The Sims 4 styling career DOES give you the option to permanently change a sim's appearance in CAS! I think it comes after a few promotions, but you get the option to offer a makeover and if the sim agrees, it pops you into CAS and you can go nuts. You can also create "trends" that sims will randomly show up wearing around the world, although this can get annoying and/or creepy because Patchy and Grim will sometimes show up wearing a trend outfit instead of their own 💀. Sims will also wear outfits they buy off mannequins in Get to Work! When you set up the mannequin you can select what type of outfit it is and it gets added to one of the clothing slots when the sim buys it. I know it's not cool to praise the Sims 4, but some things about it are fun and do work 😆

If you haven’t done that yet, could you please play a restaurant owner next time you make a OFB video? That’s one thing I never tried in TS2. (I don’t know why this seems to me like it sounds rude in English, it’s not meant like that.)

I wanna do this in The Sims 4, but placing the make-up chair on a retail lot just causes Sims to sit down on it, disabling the make-over feature. :((
