Honestly the only band that I think deserves attention from this video lol. It’s nothing new, but it’s certainly not Djent or other stereotypes. Gives me old C&C vibes mixed with some Protest The Hero. These other bands have GOT to stop with the Periphery/TesseracT emulation. You’re not offering ANYTHING of merit.
@Just-Michael
@Just-Michael 2 жыл бұрын
@@Zeta9966 Lol, Protest the Hero is probably my favourite band so that's what I grabbed onto as well. Followship reminds me more of Satyr since they're a newer band as well. Either way, I like stuff like this that's a little busy but doesn't compromise on catchy songwriting. And yeah, one of the early songs in the video, the one that was a SWS/Periphery/Chelsea Grin love child, they did the thing that I hate. They did the djenty intro riff, and then immediately drop out all the instruments with some clean singing for the verse. Every band does it now and I can't stand that when it comes to heavy music.

@@Just-Michael the busyness was textural ultimately. I’d argue from a songwriter perspective it was completely self indulgent and unnecessary because the listener can’t even process it. They could have stuck with 8th notes hitting the important notes in that lead line and achieved the same effect without wanking. But since it doesn’t compromise the song in any way, it’s fine. Just unnecessary riffage that literally no one will hear

Followship was freakin tight!. A refreshing evolution of the whole Closure in Moscow meets PTH vibe with a bit of Hail The Sun and even Coheed stuffs thrown in, but done in their own unique way. Catchy as shit and I love the clarity of their guitar tone. Great band. Just went and listened to everything they have on youtube and its all killer. And worst of all they only have 200 subs, so everyone who actually dug their sound (unlike Mr Rudy Rude over here) should go search for em and sub. Its the least you could do to support quality artists in an age where internet support makes or breaks a band. For real!

@@dylanedwards2056 dude since seeing this video i've listened to your album on your channel literally 2 dozen times. Seriously killer stuff. My old band would've fit well with you guys. Huge Coheed influence and we even covered a bunch of their stuff for the longer gigs we had to play. But I digress. Just keep doing what you're doing cuz your music stands out and your guys will succeed in time. Without a doubt. You've made a legit fan out of me. Much love from Sacramento, please lemme know if y'all make it out here and ill keep listening in the mean time.

For real shit has been so fucking stale for yeeeears, insanely boring and don't understand how anyone still stomachs it. But the music is just on a whole other level.
