I love international ball way more than club play. The best teams aren't decided by wage bill, no oil states can come in and buy their way to the top ASAP. No instead it's simply decided on which country can translate a lot of passion for the game into great infrastructure for their nation. It's a lot more pure it's not simply who's the richest but who is the best managed with a lot of talent that they earned through growing it not buying it. Plus in either smaller nations that a lot of their best players either play in obscure leagues or on the bench for bigger teams. Or even big name players who are struggling at their club. Once they're in a different environment given a different or more important role can really shine in a way they can't at their club or only on a smaller stage. Look at Pogba before the scandal or even Maguire they both played way better for their country than their club because their country is much better managed than Manchester United.
