Some advice: 1) The Pipeline is your friend. If you want to recruit above your prestige, find a pipeline 3 or 4 star without any interest in you, send them an email, LOI and “package” (pause?) and see if there’s any positive momentum a week later. If there is, just keep doing it. 2) for everybody else, including any player who is interested in you to begin the year, DO NOT SEND PACKAGE. just use letter of interest or whatever it is. The package is very expensive, doesnt have much effect except for guys not already interested, and it doesnt unlock any actions either; a letter is all you need to offer a scholarship. And if they dont accept your scholarship immediately, just keep sending emails and letters. 3) after two failed scholarship offers, you cant offer that guy again. Wait until you are at “HIGHEST” interest level to do it. If they are at “HIGHEST” and don’t accept it, check your recruiting emails. They may first want you to promise them something.

I’ve played the crap out of this game, so here’s the full recruiting guide: 1. Only go after players that have a high or highest interest level. It’s pretty much impossible to get any player with a lower interest level 2. Always look for players with a high three point percentage (at least 40-55 percent). This really helps your team score more points. 3. If you don’t have many recruiting points available, go for players that are geographically closer to you. 4. Always try to recruit so you have three players at every position on your team.

You should do an extended series on College hoops 2k8. The dynasty mode is far superior imo

For recruiting, send letter of interest (gotta do that before you can offer a scholly). I saw someone else noted that you can only offer scholly's twice, but make sure you're aware of this. Sometimes, offering the scholly and them declining it will still boost their school interest, so it's an option with someone who is HIGH to offer them the 1st time scholly just to boost them to the place where they will accept the scholly offer the next week. I just use the asst coach call to be cheap and then an unofficial visit. However, you'll notice that different recruits cost different amounts for recruiting items. When they're one of the cheap ones, I'll use the head coach visit and an official visit to really try to make a push. I've changed some guys from Very Low to Highest before (although that's not common).

There’s a mod for NCAA 10 like CFB Revamped called March Madness Legacy. It has rosters from last year but the team is working on this year’s.

I miss playing the NCAA basketball games, they always hit different in a good way. Can't remember the year but there was one that had a defensive system that allowed you to force the ball handler a direction into a trap. Me and my friend used to play on the same team and dominate with the full and half court trap

Only a few seasons in, but you need to work on some plays. An easy one is to get a big who is a good passer to post up. Take your guard on the wing to the same side of the court as the big then throw the entry pass. Once the big has the ball, take 1-2 dribbles to back him down and almost always the other post defender will double. This should leave the other big for you open and an easy alley-oop target. In my opinion, the alley-oop option is almost a glitch in the game with it's high success rate from certain spots.

Definitely like the basketball game play...I know you say you only play during March Madness but this is pure entertainment. Keep it up!!!

If I remember correctly, you could force the AI into a backcourt violation so easily. I think you pick up the player just at half court and then they always do a step back dribble. Pretty impressive rebuild, would be interesting to see if you could do it without accepting invites to other conferences

College Hoops 2k8 is probably the best route to go. NCAA Basketball has nice presentation/atmosphere, but man is that gameplay rough

With the shooters you recruited you should be blowing zone teams out by running a pick and pop offense vs taking deep threes over and over. Your senior pg was Linnsanity, should have been running pick and roll and using his speed and playmaking ability.

Harvard has been decent a few years and has had some players make the NBA. Nothing recent, Jeremy Lin would probably be the most recent. I believe they even made the tourney like 4 or 5 years in a row around 2011, making it to the third round maybe 2 of those years. They by far aren’t the worst team in college basketball.
