I always go to the free agents when I start a career in league 2. Players rated 75+ won't joint the league because it's not competitive enough, however almost the entire Mexico, Japan and Qatar national teams are there so it's easy to build a team good enough for the championship before the end of your first season. I started one with Sutton a few days ago. Intentionally avoided promotion in my first season, and then went beast mode and went over half of my second season and through league 1 unbeaten by simming all my matches. My lowest rated player at the end of my second season in league 2 was 72 and I still haven't bought a player. Free agents are the way to go. It's also worth putting all your money towards scouts with 5 star experience and judgement and send them anywhere towards the end of the season. They'll find all the best free agents for you. I did one with Bristol Rovers and got 92 rated Elliot Mas in my 5th or 6th season for free as well as an 84 rated 16 year old Brazilian whose name I don't remember

I guess this is entertaining to most people, but I have a really hard time enjoying it when it's so unrealistic and unhinged like with that Jovic signing. Jarrad, maybe consider applying some kind of level cap for each season/division? Like, no one over the 72 OVR in League One and so forth.
