I rebuilt the cheapest analog large format recording console I could find in my hometown. Watch and listen as i do the first tests in my tiny little #bedroomstudio that was basically the workshop :)

I used this console for years. It sounds great and I was very much in love with the elliptic EQ. But there were constant maintenance problems and the automation never wanted to work 100%. If I remember correctly, the studio bought it for a little over 100,000 Deutschmark and sold it for like €6,000. But I recorded and mixed many records on this thing.

Thank you! Also the routing in the board - it’s such an interesting and unique profile, 4 stereo channels, 20 channels w automation, 4 dynamic channels, 7 SPL channels, and it looks like assigns on the top of the channels - will be fun to learn about how it works and how u have it set up! Enjoy!

@@tobitweaks Don´t worry. If the mix sounds good, it sounds good. It doesn't depend on the speakers, but who uses them. If you know the speakers and know how to mix on them so that it sounds good on the target devices, that's enough. Cool console and it shows how enthusiastic you are. Thanks Tobias ! There’s nothing more fun than mixing on a console. It’s the fastest way to make it sound great. ITB tends to be more boring.. with all those guys trying to sell us all those plugins that sounds the same ..

Wow, that sounded amazing! Huge, professional, mature, solid. Definitely a vintage character that might not be ideal for everything (but why not?). If it were me, this is the last piece of gear I'd need. Worth the work I'd say, and I bet you got a killer deal too!

Hahaha if I learned something it would be not to anticipate that the Vintage character don‘t fit - I did. modern electronic or even trap music on tape and it sounded huuuge :) That aside I think so too, what a big character this board has. All the best, Tobi

I was looking into your sales ad, searching for a console. What an inpressive beast! So how do you control/save/recall settings like the faders in Live (or Logic)?

Thank you! There is an automation computer with it, so you can save and automate fader moves. The EQs I record at the insert point (and patch that in the return for recall) and the Sends I record pre Reverb/Delay etc. I am planning to make a video on that as I manage to get a sub 10 minute recall with perfect sound!
