-The mission designer spawned it there. The seasparrow in Bayside only spawns with the main mission script, you can look it up in the leaked source code.- Edit: This is not actually what happened

@@mortarn I just checked, you're right. That means the Maverick should actually spawn in DYOM because it is not placed by the main mission script.

Okay, but during trucking mission the heli spawned at Bayside (last checkpoint) 17:10 and there is no way it uses main mission script. The game really trolled Josh hard today

The heli in that mission is probably placed there by the dev, since the helipad's designated spawn is a Sea Sparrow, and not a Maverick as in the video (Mavericks can only sometimes spawn there after you have completed Flight school)

@@vth6628 Maverick spawns there by default, the sparrow only spawns after completing flight school, at least from what I saw in another comment thread, and I doubt it wast put there by the mission creator because I'm pretty sure there were others mavericks in previous dyom runs at bayside

you know, getting a heli to do the revenge mission in gta 4 is actually the preferred speedrun choice (when I last saw a GTA4 speedrun) due to how you can cut out a lot of the stuff from the mission. i guess in a way, this is the optimized way to do the mission!

I looked into it a bit more and found that the author has made over 20 of these God Eater missions. At some point, it devolves into killing Rodrigo Borgia from Assassin's Creed 2.

Actually the reason San Fierro airport planes use the mission script spawns is because you cannot lock a vehicle using the map spawns. And it is crucial for planes in the SF airport to be locked as the airport is easily accessible from the motorway so anybody would be able to grab a plane and get to Las Venturas before the game wants you to.

47:38 Do any story missions start at SF airport? They end up there but never start there. Perhaps becuz parts of missions are played there. They Lock planes unless you have pilots license? 57:14 Just have them stream DYOM missions, with all these great suggestions. Unless they are chat missions, then sprunk machines work.

After seeing chat trying to give Josh suggestions that don't work, I had an idea. Imagine a game show of Josh asking chat about DYOM facts. For example, which ways do you have to heal in DYOM? which weapons do spawn? how many unique vehicles spawn in set locations? Something like Kahoot or Jeopardy. Would probably take a while to set up, but i bet most of chat wouldn't get it right.

56:28 Ironic, Josh, but while mocking the chat you were incorrect yourself. Getting a parachute from getting out of plane is, in fact, a core game mechanic that does not require the main game script. What you do require though is 40% flying skill which requires a little bit of flying (an hour or two) but TECHNICALLY you can obtain a parachute like that (not sure about using it though).

I thought 20% is required for that because I remember grinding the Flight Skill in my starter save a long time ago for some reason. Or was 20% for the airport gates being opened for you?

@@Zmeeed01 18% is required for pilot's license but that is a part of main script. 40% flying skill is a core game threshold for player to get a parachute on bailout from a plane.

It is significantly more accurate and has a longer range without needing weapon skills

M4 has 20 more rounds in a magazine and slightly more range. I am not sure about the accuracy bit, though. AK is preferred in the speedruns because simply completing the Reuniting The Families mission gives you at least 700 skill points for the AK due to the car shootout part.
