Is there any truth to Wiggins' claims? I don't remember where I read it but I distinctly remember an interview where he said the lyrics "a test fart is no friend - it will betray you in the end" was actually talking about his best friend at the time who made everyone aware of his flatulence.

I still can’t believe he’s gone. His songs “My Feet are made of Butter” and “Everything can be a Toilet if you try” saved my life. He inspired me to pick myself up when I was down. I hope he knew what an inspiration he truly was. R.I.P. Johnny Wiggins. You are my hero.
@kubrickenigma7977Ай бұрын
@codsworth9950 I love the album with those tracks: "Songs Your Mother Will Wash Out of Your Mouth With Soap". Always been criminally underrated, and by that I think a conspiracy was concocted to keep it off the charts precisely because it would have dominated for weeks, if not months, given a chance at the time of its release. The track "My Sock, My Lover" during those years of free love and sectual revolution was ahead of It's time by decades.
@nathanhileman3848Ай бұрын
@@kubrickenigma7977 Perhaps the music industry's greatest injustice was when Gordon Lightfoot and Johnny Wiggins collaborated to write, "Carefree Highway." Warner Bros insisted that the song not be a duet, and kicked Johnny to the curb. Who knows what heights Johnny's career might have reached. 😢

I remember meeting Johnny in a little suburban watering hole back in the day . He was already very well known but had sort of burnt out and was in the process of reinventing himself. A really down to earth dude . Well as everyone essentially knows he went and surprised everyone with the iconic disco hit single “I Wanna Feel You Up” which shot straight to the top of the charts but sadly his comeback was short lived as soon thereafter he was found dead on a water bed in Vegas after allegedly choking on a Qualude but foul play was never ruled completely out . Such a tragic loss R.I.P. Mr. Wiggins we lost a real national treasure that sad day and quite frankly imho that was about the time most people sort of stopped going out .
