In this video I will be remaking 5 Lego Star Wars sets. All 5 of them are are small sets that we don’t really get these days sonI thought it would be cool to imagine how they would look in 2024. Let me know what you think!

I wish lego would make more sets like these. 10 bucks, three figs, small but cool build Edit: This is the most likes I've ever gotten which is pretty cool

These tiny sets would be like $15-20 nowadays and don’t we have something similar in battle packs and such?
@br1ckmate
@br1ckmate Ай бұрын
I think these days it'll be either two figs for 10$ or 15$ for three, kind of like the minifig packs
@br1ckmate
@br1ckmate Ай бұрын
i agree 15-20 seems more realistic, but battle packs I think is something different, they never did movie/shows based scenes in battle packs, it's usually just a lame vehicle while old small sets were focused on actual piece of the scene
@ShortRound42
@ShortRound42 Ай бұрын
You forgot inflation with a 20+ year difference between the old vs. the new. The $10 dollar sets would be over $17 today (Lego would probably round it up to $20) A $7 set from '02 would be over $12 today (Lego would round it up to $15). THINK.

The retro sets have a super fun vibe to them. The newer sets miss the fun feeling that the originals gave. Like the first tie fighter they released; it wasn’t even the right color but it sure is cool as hell. Especially the pilot figure. I really appreciate the thought behind the original starwars legos. Or at least what I think the thoughts behind them were.

Back in the day, Lego set out to make a Lego Star Wars line. Now they strive to make a Star Wars line out of Legos. What I mean is that in the 2000s, Lego used what they had to make sets based on Star Wars scenes, even if they were a little inaccurate they had charm. Now they want to make the most accurate sets because they’re trying to go for a collectors market, not a toy market. So now they bend over backwards to try and make Star Wars toys out of Legos at the cost of the charm/soul.

Great builds! Every one was unique and good, contemporary re-imaginings of the OG sets. Super cool to see, and absolutely makes me wish we would get sets like this still. If LEGO released your builds as sets, they would all be instant buys. That said, I would have liked to see more time spend showing the finished builds (sort of like how set reviewers do) and less time seeing you actually build them. Even better would have been doing side-by-sides with the existing sets, really showcasing the updated versions - but of course, you'd have to already have all the original sets to do that. Unless people are trying to recreate your builds, which some people may but certainly nowhere near the majority of people watching the video, I think the video time would be much better used being able to see what your versions look like and/or how it compares to the OG sets than just seeing you build the sets. Overall though, good video, great builds, would love to see more! The set designs are good enough they deserve better presentation!
@br1ckmate
@br1ckmate Ай бұрын
thank you so much for detailed feedback! Yes for me it was a struggle to provide value for both audiences, those who want to see it built and potentially recreate it and those who are more interested in the finished product and its' features, my ultimate plan is to learn how to do pdf instructions and show less building (maybe like a timelapse) and more of the product and the idea behind it and just link the insturctions in description. That said thanks again and stay tuned for more :)

It's crazy how many current LEGO issues the return of this set format would fix. Inaccessible Minifigures? Fixed. Not enough bricks to use for custom builds? Fixed. If Lego just released these to appease Prequel fans while they charge 70 quid for their 10th TIE Fighter. It's a win win.

Your Sandakin build is actually better than the original in my opinion. The speeder feels more in scale and really sleek. The shaping of the front is perfect with the exo-force arms of the bike is my favorite part. I don't think anybody has been able to match the aesthetic of the first Droidekas Lego made, mocs or sets, but at least yours kinda bridges the gap between new and old.

This is something I've been meaning to do too. I had some of these sets and really wanted to get the others since they were tiny scenes where you get a small build with some cool minifigs. A good start for the Lego Starwars side of things. i owned the 3 sets on the bottom. But now they are all beat up and I've grown out of the classic minifigures in favor of newer more detailed figs. So This vid hit my inspiration to remake all my older sets and upgrade them visually. You should make a series out of this. I've already done an At-st, and also, not an old set but I made the Mando n-1 quite smaller too. Here is the huge listof sets I own that I wanna re build and improve without making them less lego-esque: Droid Escape 7106 Battle Droid Carrier 7126 Jedi Duel Dooku/Yoda 7103 Tusken Raider Encounter 7113 Twin-Pod Cloud Car 7119 Final Duel II 7201 Jabba's Prize 4476 Rebel Snowspeeder 4500 Clone Scout Walker 7250 General Grievous Chase 7255 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid 7256 V-wing Fighter 6205 Tie Interceptor 6206 A-wing Fighter 6207 Slave I 6209 Y-wing Fighter 7658 -Naboo N-1 Starfighter w/ vulture droid 7660 -Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661 -Hyena Droid Bomber 8016 -Darth Vader's TIE Fighter 8017 -Freeco Speeder 8085 -Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 9494 -Desert Skiff 9496 -General Grievous Combat Speeder 75199 -Anakin's Jedi Starfighter 75214 I've got a long way ahead of me but I'm going to enjoy every second of it. There were two more of these little sets. A little set called Final Dual 1 that had Darth Vader and the Emperor on his throne and a set with C3PO and R2-D2 at the door of Jabba's Palace. I owned all seven of these sets (and a lot of others) that I gave to a needy child, as I lost my home several years ago. Everything from the Hoth version of the Millenium Falcon to these little sets. Over a hundred sets in all, not to mention a few vintage sets I got as a child, including the original Knight's Castle. I kick myself everyday for giving them away.

"Tusken Raider Encounter" is a funny way of saying "anakin slaughtered all of them as vengeance" but suppose lego had to soften it up somehow.

i like all of them. all show a scene from the various star wars flicks. while they have created a bigger updated one already, it would be interesting to see if you could build a small but updated version of vaders transformation set scene from revenge of the sith.

we need to get that anakin minifigure, and honestly a lot more episode two sets (besides clone sets) more often. when was the last time we got anakin, or obi wan, or jango

Your builds make me wish Lego testing an Ideas-style vote for a 'nostalgia' set that would be part of the yearly lineup. Or maybe a May 4th GWP that is like the BD troop carrier, but takes the middle-tier purchase. Like what you did with the old $10 and below sets.

Hello there! The algorythm did a good thing and I think these sets should've deserved remakes for the 25th anniversary! If these were sets, I would buy them, but not as expensive like nowadays :D The remakes looks nice!

One of my first Lego Star Wars sets was the Darth Vader Transformation set, so if you do another video like this you should remake that one!

The issue is that there's no financial incentive for LEGO to remake these sets for the modern market. The profit margins for such small sets just don't justify the cost for them, is what I imagine the issue is. The closet we got to these style of sets was the minifigure packs but those seemed to have significant production issues which likely means we'll never be seeing those again. It's too bad, though. I'd love to see more options at a lower price point for LEGO Star Wars. I personally think these sets are much more interesting than the microfighters or mechs, but I imagine kids these days would disagree with that.

I don't have enough data on their unit economy to judge that but I imagine that can be true, on other hand they do battle packs, which is basically same category, but that said I'd assume on average people buy more than 1 battle pack while with sets like in the video it would probably be just 1 for most consumers

The door is definatly illegal, you can see the stress on the flat plate. However, I believe it is possible to do this snot technique legally, using one of those new shorter side conntor bricks, but I don't have any of them to try it out.

I don't know for 100% sure (I wonder if there's a way to check also) but at least by the feel of it, it goes in and out nicely like all legal connections would so idk
