Random question sort of related: Can you explain here or in a video what the difference between sitting and cutting through the mix is? I’ve heard people say this about keyboards 🤔

Hey man I view sitting as “feel”. So there are certain sound choices that sit in the mix perfectly based on how it “feels” and its natural tonal properties. The opposite of this would be a sound the doesn’t sit well in mixes either it’s too muddy or dense in the worst way. Cutting through the mix is tonal as well. Think of a knife some knives are sharper than others. Some sounds are sharper than other and the tonal quality of it cuts through the mix and sounds great over all the other instruments. That’s a little in depth but I hope that makes sense.
