They didn't break the record they tied it with the 1906 Chicago cubs only difference is the cubs lost only 36 games to where Seattle lost 46 but both teams had 116 wins

Welcome to being a fan of the Mariners. There is really no logic behind why they imploded in 01. There is emotional logic with 9/11 and the Yankees playing for all of New York being a healing binding force but it's still hard to swallow

They didn’t break the W-L record in 2001. They tied for the most wins in a season. 1906 Cubs own the best W-L record with 116-36. Mariners went 116-46.

Am I the only one that feels some of these videos might have turned out differently if you had just changed your lineups to make some of them logical? You had Edgar batting lead-off in this one (instead of Ichiro) and then in the Nats video you had Trea batting cleanup instead of lead-off. Still fun to watch for sure, but I always tend to notice lineup logic when you show the offense. Just a thought. As a Mariners fan, that 2001 season just made me disappointed in general after those 116 wins. Like I said in a bet with a co-worker, I still believe Portland wins a World Series before the Mariners, and they don't even have a team. Astros joining the division ruined things as well... thought, trash cans help for sure.
