Today, thanks to an internet outage, I roll back the years with some classic Geowizard Geoguessr, except on a map I've never played before - An Urban Europe. 3 minutes per round should allow me to go steady and have some fun, I thought, but a series of wild guesses turned this one into something a bit more serious!
PLAY ALONG: Play your round, put your marker down, then switch tabs back to KZfaq to watch my attempt and the result. This way you don't ruin the game or the video!

That first round is actually incredible. Finding the completely wrong street, which just happened to be a few metres from the correct street.

It wasn't completely wrong - he zooms in on the Thoresens street sign at 2:28, he just later thinks the Thorbjornsens sign refers to the same street, but he knows for sure that he is really close. That part wasn't by accident.

It's incredible how Tom keeps finding these spots while constantly ignoring the obvious clues 6:57 'Reims' on the locksmith shop 9:50 decides to "zoom in on a few people" rather than the Belgian flag 12:29 sees an "Italian and Spanish flag" but doesn't proceed to check the advertising board, on which 'La Louvière' was written at the bottom

First time I've actually played along with you Tom and I can't believe I managed to just pip you at 23025 all because of that last round! It was the only one I got a perfect score on as well! What was really interesting was the way we went the exact same way on every round except the last as well, I took a right turn at the no-entry sign and there just so happened to be the "Quality Hotel Fredrikstad" there.. mad how a bit of luck at a junction is the difference!

16:39 Another Norway tip for you. "Øst" means East, and it refers to the part of Norway roughly between Røros (located south-east of Trondheim) and all the way south to Arendal (costal town between Drammen and Kristiansand) "Sparebanken Øst" = "Savingsbank East". Which can help narrow it down.

The last round I went opposite direction as you and I couldn't find anything to even say it's Norway for sure for about 2 minutes and then I saw a tiny little sign that pointed to Oslo to the north 20 seconds to go. 23982 is my final score.

Im from norway and although i dont consider myself very good at recognizing places in my country. For example i thought the first place was Kristiansand, which was certainly not right. But in the last one I noticed "Sparebanken Øst" which is a bank in norway, and they only exist in the eastern parts of norway, "Øst" is east in norwegian. Since it was coastal it could only really be one of at most 3 cities. Its the same general thing with Sparebanken Sør, "Sør" is south in norwegian and the bank only exists in the southern parts of the country, might be useful at some point in your GeoGuessr career :P Idk if theres a West and North version of that bank, if there is, ive never seen it. Great video as always, i really love these GeoGuessr videos of yours.

The last one was difficult. I first noted Tønsberg or Drammen, because of the bridge and canal/river, but did not recognise much else. So I crossed the fjord to Fredrikstad, because many of the older houses looked more Swedish/Baltic in style. But I have only been there once, 25 years ago. Then I saw a sign with "Plankebyen", (the board/plank town) and was sure. Fredrikstad used to be a major shipping port for lumber and sawmill produce, hence the nickname. Only Norwegians know this! Still, very impressive last-second results, GW.

Can we talk about how great that third round was? I know he says in the video that he was impressed with himself after the first two, but that third round was excellent. At first glance, it could've been in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, or even France. He went for info, found what he needed, narrowed in on Belgium, and ended up nearly getting a perfect score. All in less than 3 minutes. And with what seemed like less info than he had in the first two rounds (or at the very least, less immediately available info).
