there is something in genshin called the pity system, which means even players who are really unlucky can still get 5 stars if they make enough wishes -the pity is 90 rolls for at least one 5 star. once you get a 5 star, the pity count resets back to 0 ad you have to make at least 90 rolls again for the next 5 star. you will get a 50% chance to get the banner character every 90 rolls, if you can't get it within the 90 rolls pity system, then the next 90 roll will be 100% the banner character, even if it is for a future banner -10rolls=1600 primogem which means maximum 14400 primogem per 5 star. normally you spend the primogems on banner wishes, not on standard wishes, because there is a chance standard wishers will get you a 5 star weapon instead of character, then the pity count will reset -if you do the 4 daily quest everyday, in 1 day you will get 60 primogem. so in 1 month or 30 days, you can get 1800 primogem. which means without the bonus gifts, to store up 14400 primogem for your 5 star, it will take 8 months just on the daily quests alone. -you can also purchase 5 normal and 5 banner wishes every month from the shop, so 2 months is the equivalent of 10 rolls in the banners and 10 standard rolls -of course there are still free primogem given in the mail and from redeem codes, and you can get primogem by opening chest and completing quests,etc. so i say maybe you can get a 5 star banner character in maybe every 3 to 4 months, and maybe a 5 star weapon or character from the standard banner every 6-7 months -you can also get primogems by doing the Spiral Abyss, which resets once every 2 weeks. there are 4 floors in total, each giving you 150 primogems if you can complete the floor in time. normally, the 1st 2 floors should be quite easy for you to get 150 primogems each if you have strong characters, giving you 300 primogems in total. the 3rd floor may be a bit more tricky, if you can't get 150 primogems, 100 primogemsnis good too. the 4th level is more for advance players -also word of advise, don't spend all your wishes in 1 banner. go for the banner with the 5 star you really want, and also the banner that features 4 stars who you don't have or already have but want to level up their constellations to make them stronger. typically characters who you usually use on your team

I managed to get 4* 4-star characters (Yanfei, Noelle, Sayu, Fischl) this month and 4*4-star weapons too which already is impressive for a f2p newbie like me (AR15) since I only play the game occasionally. building and using them properly will be a challenge for me since I got them too early.
