Crazy piles of scrap copper on today's project! Scrapping out an entire house is something I've always wanted to do, so when the opportunity came up you know we had to jump on it! How much did we make? How long did we spend? Let's find out together!
Snowboarding video: • Snowboarding Big White
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
The grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
The melting furnace: amzn.to/3EGxT2q
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

As the guy who was living in this house prior to all of this, that was extremely fun to watch. I'm glad you got to do this Thub. It seems like it was worthwhile. To the commenters who think this was a "perfectly good house" I assure you, it was not. Though it may not have been the worst house, there were many deficiencies. Too many to mention here. It needed to be demolished. As far as i know, it was purchased for around $750K. In its place 2 houses will be built that will likely be listed for about a million each. Call it what you want but that's just good business.

Top tip for cleaning copper pipe, grab a large cable cutter. Something that can handle 1" cable. You can just cut above and below the joints like a pair of snips. Would have cleaned that pile in about an hour. Glad to see the truck back, great vid!

Hey just some advice from an electrician that does a lot of demo of old wiring. Next time use a pair of knipex 11 inch angled side cutters to pull the staples instead of beating up your hands and shoulders yanking the staples. Also milwaukee m12 band saw will cut pipe and wire like butter.

Adventures like this can end up being really profitable especially if you are being hired to do the clean out of the property where you get to keep everything although it often becomes at the very least a two person job in a limited time frame 😮 and you can also run into asbestos issues. After you’ve put in all the hard work. Justifying the cut because: “you get to make some money from KZfaq” Not judging or criticising, you or them. I want to make sure bad things don’t happen to nice people. You may spot I have a problem with quotation marks “I’m trying man, I really am” It’s just so hard to give them up.

Yeah... that's where i make the best $$$ from house clean-outs! Usually the appliances are older than 5 years... but for the stove, fridge, dishwasher, oven I usually make $100 for each appliance. If there is a washer/dryer set... that's an easy $250+. Then I breakdown the scrap into the most valuable price point. When I have a truck worth of scrap... then I turn it in! My biggest load to date is 1400 pounds of steel (2700 for the year), 450 pounds of aluminum. I'm still consolidating my wire to take in next with my next steel load. And i have yet to turn in the 1500 pounds of heavy iron.
