This is the situation I've been in many years ago. I don't want to achieve anything anymore even though I'm a nurse. I don't want money, big house, fancy car, etc. I just want to live simply away from this 3 systems which are political system, economic system and religious system. All that he said is perfectly in alignment with my realization🙏❤️. Thank you.

Swamiji Pranam. I do understand the meaning of "স্থিত প্রজ্ঞা" (sthito pragya ; however, unless there is a passion to achieve something in life, how will there be progress in our civilization? I entirely agree with Gita's version "not to work with expectation". Though it is very difficult to follow this principle, one cannot proceed without hope and passion. If I have learnt anything from Swami Vivekananda's writings, it is marching forward with hard work and passion and living life with zest. He hated laziness and aversions to actions. He advocated "rajoshakti" over" tamo." Very few can attain "satto" stage (ideal state).

Isn’t becoming nothing at all the key ? How to differentiate between laziness , dispassion, varagya , procrastination are they a blessing in disguise leading to realization or a flaw to be worked upon?!
@ImmortalBliss2 жыл бұрын
Except vairagya all that you have mentioned are signs of Tamo Guna and not Sattva Guna. If any of those prevails, is better to get to action (RajoGuna) as only through Rajas can one overcome Tamas and attain to Sattva. Calmness of mind or serenity and intense energy are the signs of Sattva not laziness or indolence. Spiritual life initially is a journey from gross to subtle realms of our existence. Hence grosser things like Tamas is detrimental to one's spiritual progress.
@ImmortalBliss2 жыл бұрын
The so called progress in civilization is just a myth. If you observe long enough, for thousands of years, you can judge if there really is any progress inwardly. All the material progress come to dust in no time as is proved by the great invaders of olden times. They just become dead relic of the past. Coming to Sattva guna, you're absolutely right that only through rajoguna one can reach Sattva. But intense passion and restlessness is not the way to achieve anything in the subtle realm of spirituality. Keeping the mind steadily on the object of your focus is the key to success in any field. Even in grosser realm you see that the more efficient a machine is, the less noisy it becomes and converts maximum of the energy it consumes into productive results.
@gautamkhanna58422 жыл бұрын
@@ImmortalBliss - Thank you . Although the mind deep down is always thinking of realization , about the universe , signs which show up . It does go astray ( vasanas rise up with a bang ) How to even determine if it’s laziness or the needed Vairagya ? Maybe it’s a way making you dive more deeper into finding the real self?! With regards to the work ( rat -race) could it be laziness stopping one from working again or is it grace trying to create that urge to live in spiritual town engrossed in the divine and leading a quiet life. The ego plays tricks to create confusion like this at times.

Beautiful yet I’m left with the question of how do we not resolve mental issues without a “desire” to resolve? In other words, we can be dispassionate about everything and still have gut wrenching feelings that come up daily based on fear, etc. There seems to be a disparity between mental resolution (dispassion) and emotional body and I’m at a standstill as to how to view these uncomfortable feelings without engaging “passion” or desire to remove them. 🙏

'Wanting to be desire-less' is perhaps the ultimate desire. I guess the more gradual and stable path to that state of 'dispassion' stated here is to look at our limitations and desiring (and therefore acting) to remove them, one at a time. For instance, as long as the sense of individual 'ego' is there, fear will be there. In fact, fear is sometimes good for our survival because otherwise we may be too reckless and lose a limb or life, or both! Fear acts in favour of our 'self-preservation' in the limited sense. The problem arises when it becomes irrational or compulsive fear. Then we need to understand that we are over-thinking or imagining things up a bit too much. Once this awareness is there, we will strive to come out of it. The goal is to see reality as it is, with as minimum of our own projections as possible. To achieve this, 'involvement without attachment' is a sensible way. It is echoed in Sri Krishna's views on Karma Yoga: act sensibly and to the best of your abilities without either worrying or salivating about the result. Difficult? Yes. But many have shown it is not impossible. May we all strive to liberate ourselves of our limitations, one at a time.. 🙏🏻

Now when a man gets enlightened, he certainly sees and experiences everything and everyone around as a part of himself....this is not my personal experience, this is what yogis and enlighted ones have always been saying. .Isn't it so???.. Now where is the question of such a one to be dispassionate????... When he sees everything and everyone around as part of himself, he wouldn't miss that part of him, I mean the people and other lives around, who are suffering immensely because of lack of material well being and various other reasons.....Naturally, great compassion will arise in such a person....and he will be super active...With the unfathomable wisdom and new clarity that has become available to him through this so-called realization, wouldn't he be involved with this world much more than before, I am asking???? Wouldn't he be doing all the possible things to make sure that some well-being, either material or otherwise happens to the being around him???.... How can you be fulfilled by closing your eyes, because a huge part of you is still suffering...I guess, for such an enlighted being, fulfillment must be a faraway dream...because for the ordinary person, when he is at a certain level of comfort and convenience, he may experience some moments of fulfillment, but what about the one, for whom the entire cosmos has become a part of him and there is always immense suffering all around??..... Just think about it???.... Either you are not experiencing everything as a part of you in enlightenment and this must be some fancy stories...that is all....
@ImmortalBliss2 жыл бұрын
Whenever anything transcendental is expressed in words, there is bound to be some contradiction as words are capable only of expressing the dualistic realm, not the experience of the divine. For eg. your statement which seems so rational can still be contradicted. You started by saying when a man gets enlightened he experiences everything and everyone around as himself or part of himself. However what you missed is that enlightenment is not just experiencing others' experiences. He/she also sees the hollowness or the dreamlike quality or playful quality of the entire cosmos. He/she experiences the transcendental non-dualistic dimension of the reality and hence the dualistic pairs of opposites no longer agitate him or her. The whole world and events unfold before him/her as a drama and he/she wouldn't take it seriously. Yet that dispassion does not prevent him/her from actively taking part in alleviating the suffering of those around him/her. That too is considered as a part of the divine drama. Such beings no longer have any individual agenda in life. The universal intelligence acts through them. So as a Jesus the Christ, He wouldn't mind taking the sins of others upon himself and getting crucified. Or as a Ramakrishna, He would take the sins of Girish etc. upon himself and suffer throat cancer. In fact, Sri Ramakrishna says to his disciples something like this. 'Seeing that you all will feel so much pain, I am still keeping this body inspite of the disease. If you all will allow, I shall leave the body." Now how could the disciples say anything? You will find more details about it in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna which was recorded by M. who visited him frequently and kept a diary of those days' events. Of course, this reply too is expressed in words and cannot be the absolute. So please take this only as one more perspective or pointers to the Truth. :) Best wishes, Swami Jnanishananda
@sijojose4702 жыл бұрын
@@ImmortalBliss First of all thank you so much, Swami Jnanishanandaji...I am really happy to see your quick reply, please don't get annoyed by my questions, I know you wouldn't, still, it was not my intention to create any kind of annoyance. When everything becomes a drama for a human being, who happens to experience the non-dualistic nature of the cosmos as you say, in a way isn't he losing all his sensitivity for all the life that is around...Because for him, it has become a drama, as you say...Isn't he losing something of tremendous value, I am asking??.. Sensitivity is a rare gift...Not everyone is capable of enjoying it...It is a rare flower... It is through this drama of life, you attain reality...Now how can you say that the very life that helped you to attain reality is just a drama...I guess, it appears to be so, only on the surface...If it was just some drama as you say, how did you attain reality through this drama???.. There is no way to do it......there are two possibilities...Either the thing that you consider as drama is not drama or the reality that which you consider as reality is not the real reality, it is still drama... Now, coming back to the point of debate, if this dispassion or insensitivity is the nature of one who experiences the ultimate, then just think about the very ultimate itself...How insensitive it would be...Right...So, the question here is enlightenment is some kind of empowerment or enslavement, in the sense that are you losing something of tremendous value and you are getting dispassion instead???... My question to all the enlightened beings, who are out there is just this if you have experienced this life and world to be a drama, to be untrue, what on earth are you doing here, why don't you move to the realm, where the real things in your understanding is happening, why waste time among this drama...It is not worthwhile...Isn't it??... You have become dispassionate and showing love and affection to the life around would be a herculean task for you now...Even when you manage to show some affection, it is still another drama...Drama within drama...too much of drama...I don't know then why the religions in the world have been screaming for ages that the ultimate or brahman or supreme self is another name for unconditional love, compassion this and that, etc...How is it even possible for him????.. When you feel everything like a drama, where is the question of love or compassion or anything......This is like you are watching a drama, and you know perfectly well that it is drama and in the drama, if somebody, let us say that the villain of the drama tries to kill or suffocate a poor helpless kid, would you get up and rush to rescue the kid???... Because if you are aware that it is only a drama, your logical mind wouldn't allow it...In short, such a thing would never happen...Because now you are dispassionate...It is not the real thing in your experience.......You may enjoy even the screams and yells of that poor kid... that is all.....The more he or she screams and yells, the wonderful his/her performance would be...Isn't it???... The Vedanta, enlighted beings, and many yogis have said that Brahman is Nirguna, Nirguna Parabrahma, which means it is attributeless...but religions have added colors to the brahman...Loving, compassionate, fatherly figure...I think this is the real drama...No wonder, most of the prayers remain unanswered.....Just think about the plight of an ordinary human being...He is absolutely lost...I guess ,it is in this context, somebody had described this world as "bhavasagara" When you say that this life is just some drama, you are also saying that which is the source of this life is also drama...because it is so mixed up, life is the manifestaction and Branham is the source...Somebody has said it right, long back,, body is the visible soul and soul is the invisible body...Either everything must be drama or everything is reality... Now, taking the sins of others, if you take the sins of others completely, you will leave the body...Because the physical body can handle that much karma that is allocated to it, if you take additional, you will break it up...This is applicable to enlighten ones as well...I guess many enlightened beings have said about this, this is certainly not my knowledge...They may take small karmas or sins...The karmas which normally may take 10 years or more or more for us, they may take it from us and work it out in about 1 year and they will suffer physically as well...Only very rare occasions, they do that...Please see... Universal intelligence is finding its expression in a million different ways through both the animate and inanimate....Whether somebody is enlightened or not, it does not matter, it still manifests.....So I don't know why when enlightened, somebody says, I don't have any personal agenda from now on as if personal agendas are always a bad thing to hold on to.....This is unnecessary drama....When you say that i won't have any personal agendas from now on, it simply means you didn't have any personal agenda for wellfare and wellbeing of the lives around till that point in time, otherwise after enlightenment what is the need for getting rid of that personal agendas, if it is for lives around... Anyway thanks a lot for your reply...Just asking questions out of curiosity ...that is all....Because this land has always been the land of questions and questions...Arjuna was asking questions and questions even during the Kurukshetra war to Lord Krishana.. My pranams...

Don't think the comments in here will be noticed by Swamiji. In my humble opinion, we should gain as much detachment and desirelessness as we can by practice, if we cannot attain moksha in this life. One is told of dear ones in rare instances communicating with departed jivas through mediums, etc.
@ImmortalBliss2 жыл бұрын
You may go through the book 'How is a man reborn' by Swami Satprakashananda shop.advaitaashrama.org/product/how-is-a-man-reborn/ Ebook & Audiobook versions may also be available. To answer your question in brief: No, a totally dispassionate soul is not reborn anywhere (in any lokas). What we call death is only the discarding of the gross body. The mental impressions (samskaras) which are part of the subtle body (absent in case of a totally dispassionate soul) transmigrates and assumes a new body. Usually the soul (jivatman) already sees the next body before leaving the current body in case of natural death, and then goes into a sort of swoon and forgets almost the whole of its past life by the time it learns the magical word 'I' in the new birth (within 5 years of age). There are exceptions and you'll find such an incident of a girl in Delhi remembering her past life in Vrindavan mentioned in the above book.

Karma or more accurately, Karmic result is only an indication of your past. You are very much in control of your future. Where you find the past Karma overpowering your current situation, it only means you need to put in extra effort to overcome the past result and shape your future. You were, are and will always be the creator of your destiny! No power in this universe can withhold from anyone anything they truly deserve (have worked towards). Stay blissful!

Sir... As Swami Vivekananda says that " No one can teach us spirituality better than our own soul" As well this in the Nirvana Shaktam , Shri Sankara says, that " I neither have a guru nor disciple " and this refers to the eternal soul ! You can take external help and it u r keen, God will himself sent a guru, you need not hurry as Swamiji says. But external help will be of no aid if u don't attempt internally ... That is it ! You can discuss with your friends about this ... You can come through many mediums and many answers which acknowledges and satisfies your heart follow that ! May Shri Ramkrishna, Holy Mother and Swamiji guide us to lead the way to knowledge ! 🕉️

Are you advocating people not to have higher education in Arts,Literature, Economics, Science etc.You nean to say, there will not be any Poet, any Novelist any writer any Singer any Film Director any Scientust any Doctor any Legal expert etc . Is such a world possible or desirable? If the WORLD is a MAYA OR MITHYA AS PER VEDANTA does it not become a complete mistaken identity ? If everybody becomes Brahman then how this world will persist? There is huge confusion.
@sg39182 жыл бұрын
He isn't asking or advocating anything. We should not be attached to our results is how I understand it. Also you don't become Brahman, you are That already but it needs to be realised. It isn't confusing were this to happen, life doesn't suddenly stop when you come to this realisation, you still live through your body but your approach and outlook on life drastically changes. All those negative feelings of greed, selfishness, jealousy, comparison, hate etc fall away as you only see oneness.
