True. The reason why not many people take pride in their work is: a) society doesn't want to pay for honest work anymore, b) hence companies don't value employees anymore.

It may not be that easy but I agree that there is big difference how people use these machines. When I built my house 20 years ago, I got a good one. He was an old man who put the throttle full at the morning and turned the engine off at the evening when the job was done. No extra moves with the bucket and surfaces were done with single touch. He drink his coffee and ate his lunch while working and propably peed on bottle. He dug the base of my house on hard rocky ground. A full underground basement, 500m2 gravel yard and one filtering field in two days. Looking these videos remind me how he was working. Five years later when my friend build his house the foundation work took over a week. It was just simple base for concrete foundation and couple parking spot worth of gravel yard. When looking that guy work I had a same thought that I could do it faster even though all I have done is to rent a small machine couple of times to expand my yard.

That's something I learned from watching your videos. I never thought brush would burn up in a pit, but I've used that technique now for a while, and the pit full of brush I burned in December already has a good stand of ryegrass where it was, the place in the pasture where I burned on the surface last spring is still mostly bare, so I'm going to have to do some work to get it growing this year.

Wow, that was a close call! 😲 Thank the Gods that you're the kinda guy that keep his equipment clean and tidy - a slob with hydraulic leaks, fuel leaks, motor oil leaks and on top of that, his machine covered in all kind of flammable crap - which is not uncommon as you know - would most likely have had his machine lit up like a damn Christmas tree!

Yeah I’ve always experienced when you have more than one wire in a bunch like that cut one wire and re-splice it at a time and because unless they’re colour-coded you never know which one was which. But looks like you are right because yours looked color-coded. But thanks for the videos I don’t know what it is but I find some of them just fascinating. The reason so many systems were affected was most likely related to the grounding circuit which can be used by multiple circuits simultaneously. Good thing you had the front window down @ 11:10. That might have hurt if it hit you. I've seen a few people ask you to give pond updates over the years after they've grown in, but you saying you're 85 miles away from home on this job should show anyone asking for updates why it's not always that easy to give updates on the jobs. Good thing you were able to catch that fire before it got too disastrous. Hope it's not too expensive to get things going like they were on the machine again before the fire.
