With daylight hours shortening, the tractor needed an upgrade in the light department. I picked up some auxiliary lights from Tractor Supply Company (Traveler LED lights) and the wiring harness for the lights. check out the install of these LED lights on the Kioti CK3510SE sub compact tractor.

Great job and super nice work! Also have a CK3520 and purchased two 12 inch pointing front and a couple back. Mounting on the top of the ROPS on the underside, as getting a shade soon for the top of the ROPS. Great stuff and thank you!

Great upgrade!!. I would have put 2 reverse facing lights as well, I'm a little older than you and trust me, in a few years that extra light is going to be priceless!

Someday I might. I would love the two forward ones to be a little higher as they get in my eyes, but I have building height limitations too.

Understand it's a little extra money, but I opted to run my forward facing lights on one switch and the rear facing light on its own switch. I use my tractor 95% of the time in forward and 5% in reverse and didn't want to put hours on lights I wasn't using. Also, no splicing (cleaner install). NICE video, either way and GREAT upgrade to the tractor!

Great Idea! I may do that at some point.

Dude, nice job. Huge improvement. If I could make one suggestion (as a retired electrician) install a fuse-able link as close to the starter as possible, so as to protect your wiring harness. If a fault (short) we’re to occur in that wiring harness it would subject to all the current the starter could draw, which would essentially turn your wiring harness into a match… Thanks for the video.

If you look closely, there is a fuse (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNipZa2FtM7Fpok.html) right after the connection to the starter. (I believe - will have to double check that is actually a fuse). Does that qualify?

Yes, my bad. Most harnesses today incorporate them, but I missed the obvious portion of the video where you clearly pointed it out. Yes, you’re good to go. You can sleep with both eyes closed, confident that any short (in that harness) will not cost you anymore than the price of a replacement fuse. 👍

wouldnt of been easier & more simple, not to mention less costly to simply ground each light with a self-tapping screw to the rops? can also ground the switch? also why use an extra switch when there are yellow lights with power? why not tape into this hot wire, turn all lights easier?

Very nice addition. I need to swap my JD3038E turn/stop lights from the outside of the ROPS to the inside and will probably add some additional lighting then. I'm thinking of just wiring a accessory plug to it and I can just plug in to the tray port on my fender.

Sounds great! Thanks for watching! The lights really are awesome. I'd love to have them on top of my ROPs because I do get a little blinded looking backwards, but I rarely have the ROPS up.

Good job. I have been looking at these lights at TSC too. That's the one thing that compact tractors fall short on is lighting as probably few if any are sold without a loader. I just got a new RK 37 and it did at least come standard with a rear LED work light, now I want to add the two lights on the ROPS. The light brackets are already on the ROPS. How are liking this setup? I keep seeing people talk about insect problems when your running the lights which I can see but what else are you going to do. Should have bought a cab tractor I guess, LOL. Thanks for the vid.

They are great! I imagine if I run it in the summer there will be bugs but the benefit is that daylight hours are longer so theoretically I shouldn't need the lights as much.

Did you check out the factory wiring on the right side of the seat at the bottom of the ROPS (2 bullet connectors)? Or did your lights draw too much power?
@OutdoorsEngineer
@OutdoorsEngineer 2 жыл бұрын
The connectors i found in that area were always powered with the key on, when I tested them. They would not turn off with a switch. Admittedly I did this after I had already installed the switch so I figured to check any way.

@@OutdoorsEngineer Oh, they are always on and not connected to the light dial? I was going to check myself but cannot find my voltage meter 😅 so you NEED to put a separate switch system like you did if you want control?
@OutdoorsEngineer

@@jesserusch333 My basic understanding is yet. But I'm. It 100% sure. I've been real happy with the Tractor supply lights i installed.

The plastic one on the ROPS? It came with the tractor. It is one of the items you get with an SE tractor.
