Maybe getting Pokemon Scarlet/Violet was a mistake on my behalf. We'll know for sure in a couple of days, but anyways. In this short video I try my best to explain the reasons behind my sudden change of heart.

This is just a quick video I recorded after my usual ones, explaining my debacle between getting the game or not and my reasons for my final decision. We all enjoy cheap chips and fries but that doesn't make them gourmet! I'll expand on this later, now UFC 282 has just started!

Of course it has a lot of errors, GF always releases its games a couple of years after the last one and they have to learn to take their time... but still leaving aside the visual part and errors, I feel that it is by far better than SWSH, I can't wait for the DLC

Honestly I don't get how people can blame the console itself for SV's problems when it can run games like Xenoblade 3 and Nier Automata with next to no issues.

Played the game, only encountered one bug, it was a bombirdier that was stuck in one place and cannot be battled. Thats all lol.

The unpatched day one version of the game is wildly buggy and most folks uploading videos to bash on the game are playing that version of the game. I am not saying there are no bugs at all... However the game itself is no less buggy than any Rockstar, Bethesda, CDPR, or FromSoft game.

@@Vincentvondoom rip I wouldn't know lol *I sold my switch and am currently...playing it some other means >:) But coming from playing Skyrim since 2013 (I still do) I've grown to ignore bugs as long as they do not hinder progress in the game.

Right? The only bug I have encountered since buying the game is the one in multiplayer raids where stats bonuses aren't being correctly calculated re: Azumaril's Big Power ability. That's the only one.

Is okay to feel like "yeah it was bad" and I can see you love pokemon, and with your brother. It sucks that when one is working the time is consume leaving little time to play. But just like you say If you have fun is okay and cool, you are the one playing not the world ⚡ ☆ ～('▽^ )/

Yep! It's all about enjoying! Sad we have to kinda brush aside the issues and all that though. It shouldn't be that way specially considering its a 60$ game coming from one of the biggest franchises ever!

Like the best way I explain it to my friends is... The "game" itself is my favorite in the series. But the technical issues, while in my experience have only ever been in graphics and nothing game-breaking, are almost constant. I feel like those problems are too deep to be able to fix with just a couple patches, but if that did manage to happen then it would be amazing. The developers of Game Freak are only a fraction of The Pokemon Company and they don't really get to use the franchise's massive budget how they like, but it does feel like something the larger company would want to prioritize.

I only followed you for a few months but I 100% agree with what you say. I have played around 5 hours? I am shocked at how bad it can run, but I also felt the Map is a little too large that encounters can trigger on small pokemon you cannot see. I tried the first Gym as well and it felt....like I didn't know the Gym Leader much before I challenged them whereas in previous games you get a little story with them. Now I am not the biggest fan of Sword/Shield but it was functional and I did like the big area to find different Pokemon

I skipped SWSH but fro what I heard a lot of people were tired with the same ol' formula and all that... also with the story being garbage hahah. This game is something else when it comes to critique. I feel the more time passes more of the favorable opinion will shift... or so I hope hahah

Yo realmente no soy capaz de ignorar esos errores, viniendo de una empresa mil millonaria con la franquicia más lucrativa del mundo que me entreguen un producto así no me hace nada de gracia y es una lastima, ya dandole un vistazo al juego se ve que tiene potencial y quitando al elefante de la habitación (Los Bugs) el juego de por si se desempeña mediocre, yo soy del área competitiva y Escarlata y Purpura esta rota, son muchos los pokémon que hay que banear para "estabilizar" el meta y el juego tiene un RNG predecible, esto provoca que se abuse de movimientos fulminantes. En fin no me alargo, bien por quien le gusto pero a mi no me pasa lo mismo estoy triste y rezaré para que salga un pokémon en óptimas condiciones. (Y para los que dicen que pronto parchearan "todos" los bugs les digo que solo solventaran los que arruinen seriamente la experiencia y los demás seguirán ahí, miren a SwSh sigue teniendo sus bugs y eso que no tiene tantos como esta entrega.) :(

Soy de la misma filosofía, aunque no esté en todo lo que es competitivo (aunque supe todo el problema del RNG seed que había pasado). Es lamentable que la gente se haya acostumbrado a recibir cosas a medias/mediocres sin chistar, sólo porque es Pokemon. En mi caso encuentro la historia bastante básica (pero todo es mejor que SwSh, porsupuesto), y el endgame es básicamente inexistente (yo sé que nunca volverán cosas como Battle Frontier, ni menos Battle Tower). Sé que vendrán más cosas para el DLC, pero dudo que tengan que ver con el endgame/post-game. Gracias por tu comentario.. y esperemos las cosas mejoren!

I didn’t buy scarlet violet but I did enjoy arceus a little bit S/V looks atrocious and they took out a lot of stuff that made arceus great

didn't buy arceus, visuals are terrible, game feels boring, progression is unsatisfying. S/V took the few of arceus did good and made it better.

I do agnoledge the game has flaws sure it's better than Gen 8 but legends was certainly better despite lacking in the graphical department while Gen 9 has glitches galore making sonic 06 tremble ima stick to frontiers than pokemon for one of the highest growing media companies in the world it should have had more time so it could have been better it had potential though to be better a game Tl;dr:Gen 9 6.7/10

glitches are the main thing and yet I still haven't found one. and defending the performance is weird? none of the "performance issues" affected my gameplay or my character. Yes the NPCs in the background move at 1 fps, but who cares? who's controlling them? if you rather complain about the NPCs gameplay than look at what good the game did, that's what sounds "weird" to me. Overall one of the best pokémon games released. Played since red/blue were released, and the 3 first gens were shit compared to what we're getting, the difference comes out to take out the biased glasses off.

talking about crazy and weird opinions: "game is bad because it's short", the game is as long as you want it to be, and that is true to every pokemon game, you can rush them in 15h or less if you so desire, S/V took me 50h. As a kid playing the first games, they felt long because we were kids, playing them now make us see how shitty they are, and the post game? non-existing. but hey, S/V having a decent post game and defending it's "crazy", but throwing blind hate is ok. If gen 1 designs were released now, there would be no "hit or miss", every design is shit, eggs? rock with eyes? pokeball with eyes? purple shit with eyes? nah man those are great. Gen 2? Has Scizor... Tyranitar... and that's it. Everything else is useless unoriginal babies, or incomplete mons who had to get an evo in later gens.

Gen 9 is two step forward four step back basically A good story that people actually want like Gen 5 games did, and the game is filled with interesting characters? Yes A gimmick that people actually like? Yes Legends of Arceus Gameplay and QOL? No Interesting art style and design on the mons and enviroment? No Perform well after Gamefreak released 3 Switch Games(Lets Go, Arceus, Sword and Shield)? No Balanced gameplay? *Hell no*

@@anthonylooyen4855 Not that the art style itself is bad, its hard to explain with words but *Damn how did the Art Style make the graphic look worse than it is when we have a decent Art Style that doesnt make the graphic look bad except in specific Areas like Arceus* Ive seen better old game and even new game with Art Styles that doesnt clash with the graphics
