i shrunk my brand new $100 merino wool sweater. 🤦🏼‍♀️
i've had better days. i bought this expensive sweater all the way from ireland. immediately, i washed it in the washing machine, you know for cleanliness purposes. well it shrunk... a lot. i attempt to fix it by a method i saw on the today show's youtube channel. did i fix it? you be the judge.

LOL, I buy all your shrunken wool sweaters from thrift stores and sew mittens from them. I hate to say that so many sad people make my day.

The trick is to hold it in a stretch position while it dries as it will instinctively pull back. Then steam it to lock the new shape in place.

LMAO this just happend to me i found an L.L bean wool cardigan and it shrunk i wanna cry and laugh at the same time. its now the size for a new born

Yup, mine too...it was the most perfect sweater I have ever had, the worst is that I didn't even had a chance to wear it yet, I have the habit to wash first the clothes I buy 😩 ...now it is almost a dog size sweater 😂 Trying to give it back the life by soaking in a great deal of a hair conditioner ...hope it works !

Same thing here, I ruined like 3 of mine, only wore them once and washed in the washer, now they are like babies sweaters. I have tried everything, hair conditioner and warm water over and over yet still can't get it to the original size, just moved a tiny bite but still not even close to my size.

Your supposed to air out your wool blankets and sweaters they are self cleaning but if you have you you hand wash them (by hand not the cycle on your washer) and in lukewarm water squeeze and lay flat to dry away from your dryer edit: your cat and son are sooo cute 🥰

Hi. Great video. I have a wool sweater that fits good but my sleeves are too long. Do you think if I wash just the sleeves and put it in the dryer they would only shrink. With no warm air just cool… maybe? I don’t wear it at all because of that reason..I don’t like to fold the cuffs either just would like to wear the sleeves normal…have any ideas…

I just shrunk a merino wool sweater too 😭So I’ve now stretched it out and hung it in the bathroom to dry 🤞 Thing is, I washed it by hand before and it came out fine. But this time I put it in the machine and it shrunk 😢
