Finally one 'review' where you can clearly hear the exhausts in the end of the movie! Seems rare to find movies where they record exhaust sounds on KZfaq while driving.. but honestly the sound is what makes it appealing or not. I don't know what you are used to, but to me it sounds fun, only a bit like a "tree shredder". Or a farmers tractor... I'm used to a Ducati Monster 800 with Performance Titanium exhausts, I guess without muffler, so compared to that it's always a downgrade, however, on that bike you couldn't ride long without hearing protection because it was loud! It attracted police multiple times... even so bad that in a tunnel of more than a kilometer lenght the police heard me at the end while I entered the tunnel... not a wonder because I drove around 200 km/h and that's also the reason I'm looking for this bike, because it's risky driving something that goes that fast!

Glad it helped, not really a proper review, I thought I may do one of those after a few hundred miles, to check for any problems etc. so far its been good, the dashboard doesn't like getting wet, is my main complaint on the build quality, doesn't affect the performance, but the 'high beam' indicator (not the actual light) comes on if its gets very rained on. coming up to my first big service soon, so i can start to open her up more now. also, she does seem to run hot, which is only a problem, if you are going slow in traffic etc.... but that maybe down to the fact she is still running in.

The Honda is a more dependable option no doubt. Always a bit of a risk with smaller manufacturers. But it’s nice to have something a bit more original. (Every time I park it I get people asking what it is and saying “nice bike” etc. )

I've been interested in the Mutt 250 but there seems too many issues on the Facebook group, bits falling off, indicators and battery failing within months of new, bogging down (fuel injector/sensor), and corrosion. These Fantics ooze quality in comparison, at least that's my impressions on KZfaq.
@biscuitsalive

Hard to say. I sold mine for various reasons. It never let me down, but it ran super hot. And I would let it cool down after slow/tricky uphill sections. A few cuts outs (dealer could not find cause) and a headlight failure. But I just wouldn’t trust their longevity for years and years. (Like I would a Honda/Yamaha etc. ) Not that I have any real evidence of the longevity being poor... I just didn’t like my chances of owning it for many years without a serious issue.

Yep no point getting a high, long suspension travel bike if you are on road 90%+ That said. This is very good fun on the road. You can chuck it around easily.
@nockianlifter661
@nockianlifter661 3 жыл бұрын
The scrambler is the road biased version. It loses the long suspenders, has different damping and really grippy dual sport tyres. Love mine. Chucked in a KTM990 for it. Light, raw, simple motorcycling with a dash of style. A willing little motor that’s always up for it like a daft puppy after a ball and ridiculously nimble handling. I found the brakes a bit lacking, but that’s coming from a twin 4 pot radial Brembo set up. Haven’t attempted any off road yet.

@nockianlifter661
@nockianlifter661 3 жыл бұрын
@@mattpierceplayz I asked the same question. Head Gaskets, suspension and Cush drive rubbers are already sorted out on 2020 models. There was an issue in the factory properly filling the coolant which caused overheating. I’ve only got a few hundred miles on the clock. The only issue remaining is that they don’t like salty, wet roads which destroys the finish-not all riders care about it and just go through winter as a commuter. 2021 models are euro 5 and have better switchgear and rear mudguard if that bothers you. I got a small discount because mine - deluxe model-is a 2020. The dealer I use MHB in Kirby Stephen seems very knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. Get a ride on one, use A roads and motorways because that’s where it’s least enjoyable. On the backroads it’s a belter.

Great video! I had almost decided that my next bike would be the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE but then I found this bike. It looks fantastic and the price is really good. But being a 6'3 rider this might feel a bit too small or what do you think?
@biscuitsalive

I’m 5’7” or 5’8” ish. And the rally version is slightly tall for me. But it doesn’t feel like a big bike. So maybe. If you are a small 6’3 u maybe ok. If you are a big chap then yes. @biscuitsalive
@biscuitsalive 3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used it for any really long trips yet. So seats been fine for me. Mines due first main service. Prob do a follow up vid after that’s done. Only really added luggage. Rest is stock. But if you plan long hauls then a screen would be a good idea. I get tired quick from buffering /noise when travelling around 70mph. 40 mins up the A30 feels noisy and much longer than it actually is. Watch out for water getting into dash. It doesn’t seem to affect the actual bike. But it makes the warning lamps come on if it’s very wet. (When it rains it tells me my high beam is on... when it isn’t)

Hi, love the video. I’m looking at maybe getting a used one and am wondering what the dealer support has been like if needed? I’m in Oxfordshire and dealers seem few and far between, my main concern being ‘what happens if they stop being available in the UK’ and any difficulties that may arrive with parts availability and servicing? How’s it been for you?
@biscuitsalive
@biscuitsalive Жыл бұрын
Wasn’t great. I had a couple of niggles and the dealer looked at it. But didn’t really act like they cared. Nice guys (in bodmin) But I don’t think customer support was a priority. I had a few cut outs that didn’t happen when dealer was inspecting. So they didn’t really chance the issue. They did replace a faulty headlight fairly quickly tho. Be warned. I found it tricky to sell it on again. Expect to lose a fair bit. Most dealers won’t want it in trade. And second hand value seems low.
