Had a cheater a long time ago in quickplay in OW1. Team called him out (because it was screen violently shaking never missing a single shot style of cheating) and his team worked with us to make the match absolute hell for him. Every time he died, their Mercy would gather us around, rez him, and their Mei would wall him in and cryo any other exit so he couldn't run. Then everybody would TBag and repeat the cycle. The whole lobby made sure he was absolutely shit on, it was glorious. Nothing brings me joy more than people making sure the cheater knows they're complete dog at the game.

@@MrPayPay- i guess mei is just a troll character that ppl hate, one game in quick play i walled the entrance to see if it’d work (i destroyed it immediately, im not the type that’ll leave a bad wall up.) but even that can slightly piss someone off. luckily, i’m the type of mei that always destroys walls if it’s inconvenient for our team

People don't report in QP. Even if you have a rage hacking spinbot Widow with 100% headshot accuracy, people just don't report because "It's just QP get over it". They're usually grouped up with people too, which makes it worse.

I used at cheat in games 5-6 years ago. It’s literally just about feeling like you’re better than others. It’s to get the social gratification of being “good” without actually having to do the work.

@@graysonparker1593 I've pretty regularly cheated in single player/ local coop games for nearly my whole life now, i think for me its just an adhd thing. The end result isn't anymore gratifying if i did it regularly, so it's more like playing on ultra easy mode because the grind and challenge isn't enjoyable for me. With local coop, i may cheat to do something goofy as hell simply to get a laugh out of my friends. That being said i'd never cheat in an online multiplayer game like overwatch, it's one thing to ruin my experience but i don't want to do that do others.

there is a reasonable explanation for this. Boosted accounts or even fresh comp ready accounts are readily for sale online. The fastest way to win 50 games is to just cheat. The easiest way to boost an account you intend to sell is to just cheat. it's sad, but it's a thing. Beyond that though, cheats are pervasive in this game. It's ridiculous at times these days. You can be playing some team that has a junk (a hero notoriously picked by people with no aim) on the other team, you consistently kill them and then they swap to hanzo and all of a sudden it's headshot galore left and right. Then you spectate them and their crosshair is either consistently spinning circles or violently shaking left to right. Hanzo is by far the biggest cheating culprit i come across. maybe it's cause people believe it's harder to spot on him or something. The funniest thing is when they get play of the game and you just see them standing still randomly flicking 90s for 3 headshots then slowly looking around as their aimbot spun them around so much they got lost and don't know where they're looking.

"Why would you cheat in quickplay?" I'd like to know the answer too. I play quickplay just to chill with friends and the numerous times we get hackers/cheaters/bots on the other team is insane. 1 round we got a sniper hacker duo that wouldn't let us leave spawn *at all* and another we had a lucio bot in junkertown (and we could tell it was a bot, he got stuck at the doors). Like...why waste your expensive cheats on diet comp. It shows how scared they are to use cheats in *actual comp* because they know they'll be used as content for Jay3.

What would be really nice for anti-cheat in Overwatch 2 is if they have an input recording from mouse and keyboard, so you can see what inputs are being sent, how fast they're being sent, and tracks mouse positioning, and it creates a graph that should show whether if that person's movements are legit, or if it's being sent by a cheat program, because I can guarantee you that graph will show all the irregularities and blips in mouse movement that aren't natural or normal for human players. You'd also need data collection of other players in the game to compare that data with also, and so it checks against those players how that graph stacks up.

4:10 well, in the case of Valorant it is a lot easier to actually spot a cheater in the game. Like for instance if someone has got aimbot in Val, they will dominate the entire game because everyone has equal health and well the guns do a lot of damage. In OW, even if you cheat it doesn't mean you will dominate the game. That's because the team composition matters and so does game sense. Every hero has different amount of damage and even the health pool is different as well. That's why many times we can find cheaters getting rolled in OW. This makes it harder to spot them

Cheating bans depend on reports and a certain % of games played on top of the rather obvious known cheat detection through warden.

Stange aime bot, looks like it quickly flicks, then resets to his original firing position in a fraction of a second to not make it obvious. He also might be playing support so more shots would miss, which is probably why it didn't look as sus when he was playing Lucio.

I almost exclusively play quickplay because I play on PC with my console friend and let me tell you, there are SO MANY cheaters in quick play. If I play for 2 hours I can almost guarantee at least one cheater

The problem is valorant vanguard is seperatly installed on ur PC which some ppl do not like bc its looking direct into ur PC and what programms u are running. Also there are some problems with window 11, u need to have secure boot anabled or vanguard will not work which leads to valorant being unplayable.

Most of the hackers I've seen in QP actually do lose lol. They just have ZERO gamesense so they have terrible positioning, terrible timing, terrible target focus.

To your question: there are plenty of cheaters in QP. Everyday I log back in I get the "thank you" popup and I almost only play in QP. I've suffered plenty of Zen cheaters in fact. If only Blizzard was not an indie company, you know.

People think Valorant's anti-cheat is extremely good and/or its the best out there but it's not that special, the main reason why it seems so good is because Riot is smart and does great marketing around their anti-cheat, they also did the right thing by being reactive immediately, where players can get banned mid-game, which makes for some good clips to share. Vanguard is great at detecting blatant cheats, which is something third-party apps like Faceit have done before on games like CS:GO, but it is no better at detecting legit cheaters which usually make the majority of cheating bases in these games. There is also less ways to confirm cheaters in Valorant, due to no replays etc. so that also helps with its clean look, but the game has its fair share of cheaters, this doesn't mean they don't do a good job, they are very active with lawsuits against cheat developers for example, (possibly the biggest impact measure) but they obvs can't get them all.

I've been noticing alot of hackers/ cheaters on paladins lately as well, and my girlfriend is telling me its becoming a thing on splatoon...f'n splatoon. Hackers everywhere.

I'm all in favor of not banning cheaters but sending them to their own server where they can ONLY play against other cheaters.
