I was learning a lot from another T500 doom otp called Zunair. Small videos, not the most exhilarating pacing, but the positioning and cooldown management was so great my game improved immediately on many tanks just by noting where he stood for certain maps.

One tech i got from quaked is to look down slightly when you block and because it technically exposes your head you take more damage and get punch faster. Also look up slightly to use defensively and take less damage.

I too have close to 70 hours on doomfist in qp. I just recently decided to play some comp games and it was quite the experience. I am unranked at the moment because I can never bring myself to finish my cards, since this ranked system is so obnoxious, but I held my own quite well in gold 4 games. I think for a qp only player that's a pretty good start. I also had one game in particular were I popped off. It was funny because at some point I HAD to answer the door, so I was afk for 15 seconds I guess. Told my team and they seemed totally chill about it. Whe went on to win that game

Honestly, as a doom main, he's probably the hardest character to play in the entire game. Not only is he without a doubt an extremely hard character to play, he has an insane amount of counters.

Doomfist is such an interesting character. I really like when a character has burst damage combos and mobility tools but I'm terrified of playing tank. I'm not very good at understanding the current situation in the game and it's the most important class that dictates the pacing of the match.

300 hours of doom on my main and I got banned permanently banned yesterday

What you said at the start is basically my take on doomfist. He’s one of the most fun and rewarding heroes to play in the game but goddamn is he difficult. All of the cc you have to bait out before you even think about popping off and all of the burst damage that ruins him compared to most other tanks. Yes he’s not the worst tank in the game but you have to put so much more effort into playing him moment-to-moment than you do any other tank in my opinion. Most of them simply have easier value to be had. Honestly, the biggest issue with him is that the devs clearly don’t play him, they just watch the 6 top 500 doom players and adjust him accordingly, despite not understanding the game that deeply. His power block is somehow counter-power creep as it’s like a worse version of Dva’s defence matrix and a worse version of Zarya bubble at the same time. The fact that you still lose empowered punch when stunned during the pulling fist back animation (even though you don’t lose it if you cancel it manually). The new ultimate change is such a bad display of their knowledge of him because it doesn’t address the issue with his ult at all. The issue is that they want you to meteor strike into the enemy team like superman landing and get kills but you can’t do that because the damage is too little (and it scales terribly from the centre point), the animation is too slow and restrictive and you just get bursted down or stun locked when you land anyway so you instead have to use it to escape or slam onto high ground to avoid the rooted animation. It’s so weird how one of the most fun and complex kits in the game comes from a hero nobody in the balance team plays or understands..

I love playing doom. But being stuck in plat drives me nuts cause most the time when i get supports or dps 1 shots. Not one is helping me out and since of course im in plat, since aim isnt amazing either. Its frustrating to say the least but when i pop off i definitely pop off
