@@horizonbumpy2828 At least this game made up for it by being comically self aware to the point of it going from cringe to really funny (due to this being mario's very first RPG). Also, TTYD was never really that hard. It's more the optional challenges that make it far more difficult. In my opinion, the reason for fighting things being gone did a far bigger scar on the franchise than the difficulty as Paper Mario games were never really about difficulty for me, so I get what you are saying.

Capture card delay can be avoided by using a HDMI splitter, 1 cable goes to the capture card. The other one goes into a monitor. Then play while watching the monitor, capture will be synced up fine, but you need to get audio from the monitor (either using headphones or speakers), using a headset on the Switch will prevent the capture card from getting any audio.

If he's using the Elgato capture cards there shouldn't be any significant delay unless he's using the new elgato software instead of the obs preview. There still will inevitably be SOME delay, but it's definitely not enough to make him constantly miss time stuff.

Chrono Trigger is really good, it is made by the creators of final fantasy and dragon quest, the art is by Akira Toriyama the dragonball guy, and it has an interesting time travel mechanic. It also isn’t too long and is my favorite game.

The character switch-in mechanic reminds me of Mana Khemia. You generally only had like four characters in combat, but constantly had two others waiting. And instead of just doing a manual switch, they either defended from an attack or chained into a combo, and the ones they replaced were recovering mana and hp, waiting for their turn to come back to the front.

If you want story rich, I recommend LISA the Painful and Omori. They take less than 20 hours. Really good rpgs

I don know if he has the patience for a stealth game. I do think his brain is perfectly suited to fighting games (former chess player, competitive, monke), I'd like to see him try those. I don't know what the best way to introduce him is tho, there's the content way and then the actual real way.

I didn't have a suggestion last time, but I may as well mention Chained Echoes. I just finished it this past week. Pete played it last year when it was pretty new. Very heavily inspired by the JRPGs of the 1990s and early 2000s, so you might catch a few references. Depending on how much you do and how fast you are, you can beat it in anywhere from 30 - 40 hours. But most importantly, Baki's in it. I'm not joking. There are enemies in the game that are muscly giants literally named "Baki".

I remember the Mario & Luigi games on the DS also being really fun, if you wanted to check those out. Though I'm not sure how well you could stream it since those games tend to use the touch-screen and your "DS" may not have one.

It's an old one, but I highly recommend trying out the classic Legend of Dragoon! I think you'd get a kick out of the combat system, it's pretty unique, plus it has a GREAT story (and the best bromance ever written)!

A semi-recommendation for an RPG -- The World Ends With You. Reason it's not a full recommendation is that the port kinda controls like ass, and the game is definitely.meant to be played on the two screens, with a heavy emphasis on the stylus controls, so unless you get a capture card modded DS, it's probably more just something to play on your own time (and/or the port controls would makeyouhate it). Still easily one of the best RPGs out there from the DS era, with a pretty great soundtrack to boot -- it's just definitely held back by the port being so rough. The sequel (The World Ends With You NEO) is pretty solid, and it controls just fine, though (but it also follows a port-only epilogue chapter for the original game, because Square Enix loves doing Square Enix things.

If you Want a Great RPG Connor please play Crono Trigger for streaming and for final fanatasy 6 i would recommend completing this game off stream because it is a banger of a long game but with that said, it will open your third eye on why i love RPG's

Legend of dragoon was the jrpg I grew up with and loved, though its a full 4 disc ps1 game that also has timing based attacks. They are far more clear than in this game though

You know what RPG series is completely manageable and definitely streamer friendly, Kingdom Hearts, you could probably knock them all out in 1 or 2..... weeks of streaming
