you are blown away by a single 1.5 meter wide indoor range? i dont know how the laws differentiate from state to state but cant u just go outside into the woods and build a shooting range there (if u buy the land ofc)? @@Re4pZz Well first off almost no states have that much unoccupied land except in specific concentrated areas (which means a long drive even when already in-state), and second a lot of states prohibit target shooting on state land, and federal on federal land. Many of us have tried to find a place to do exactly this, and just got the middle finger from the government. So shooting in state or national forests is a no-go in many places. Buying land yourself specifically for setting up a range is also not easy (ignoring cost), because surrounding land is almost always occupied and there are severe restrictions to successfully avoid potential liability. And third, I enjoy shooting outside and prefer it. But if I could wake up in pajama pants, grab a cup of coffee, head to my basement and squeeze off a few rounds, you damned well know I'm doing that every single morning!

I like how people are commenting that the parents are horrible for selling the land. It's hard to make ends meet as a farmer. And if you don't work the land to get an agricultural exemption to discount your real estate taxes, it's not always a great thing to pass to your kids.
