As a frontline main, yes it is painful being the center of attraction and it's even harder when you're a Raum or Yagorath with many counters and you can't do anything about it. Also yeah, I keep getting on matches too where the other team are pros and my teammates are just newbies... I hate the matchmaking in Paladins, it's not well balanced.

I've played a lot of Main-tank Ash, here's what I've come to learn Your first map was rough. You kinda can't play point ash on Mill, way better to dance between off and point with Slug Shot. Disrupt their backline on that bigass high ground, help your flank get in, then turn around and dive point Shield reset is absolutely absurd when they have a proper point tank too. The more sustain they have, the more you have. Kinetic Burst has a way lower cooldown than Shield, and it ends up making that your new shield cooldown. She gets a life rip card that goes up to 50%. Because she has so little damage. You don't need it at 50 if you're confident in your support, you're gonna be behind a shield so much that you'll basically never be in caut. Always have it at max for off tank, it's so good Monitor how fast your health is going down, your escape tool has a wind-up. It's always better to pussy out than to die, much less downtime to get back on point Her ult charges really fast, and you will never be able to kill someone solo with it. Use it to turn their support off at the start of a fight, hopefully your dps or flank can actually take advantage of it and kill them but even if they don't that's a whole lotta downtime that the enemy support can't heal their point tank Roleplay her. It's stupid, I know, but the best way to play her is to lean into her personality. Get right up in their faces and bully them, they can't do shit to stop you from throwing them around like trash (unless they wanna waste a ton of credits to reduce your knockback, but that doesn't stop your shield reset) It can be really funny to walk behind the enemy tank and throw them into your team, then slap a shield behind them so their support doesn't have LoS. You stay on point, you can defend and still get healed. They kinda can't. Also a great way to force out their escape tool since it'll usually have a way longer cooldown than your Burst, which also served a second purpose of resetting your shield Your last shot is for Burst, do not fire it and then be caught reloading when your shield goes down. If you don't have a good target for it, start walking towards cover before your shield drops and you're completely caught out

That's the problem with paladins, when people see you lock in a tank they just go straight to something else. I've immediately clicked tanks like Torvald just so someone else would pick a point tank and no one ever does

As someone that mainly plays support and point tanks I relate so much. You gotta stay on point and alive while everyone is hitting you and when you lose the point everyone complains lol. And your conclusion is very true! No matter what you do and how much you hold the point you don't have enough damage to make tons of kills unless your teammates do their job. Being tank isn't as easy!

for ash pointtank, you can play it with batteling ram or fortress breaker, the latter one is a lot simpler, and if you play the 2. one. 1. place shield 2. when shield goes out give knockback (legit just there to reset your shield cooldown) 3.repeat also, if you play fortress braker, in mid-lategame shield yourself while in ult and you need heals, not cause you can die, but cause you get out of caut: And for ashes best talent, they are pretty much all similar, sllugshot is definitely more fun, but it's not necessarily a lot better than the other talents. Also, ash can play pointtank ^^ About slows, ash doesn't really give a shit, about stuns, she hella does. Unbound doesn'T really help since it's about the dash, but she actually doesn'T get hardcountered by it. You just need to play around it (there are quite some ways to do that)

Well you gotta shoot the right people during the chaos. Help your healer soften the flank on them or make the enemy healer reposition instead of tickling the enemy tank

I wish you had gotten to play with a point tank. That's when Ash is enjoyable. I frontline main and your sentiments are on point...but also I don't think most players realize how frustrating playing a frontline can be either...up to HiRez to make them more fun at this point.

Rough times trying to solo with off-tank. Best to make sure point-tank is covered. It's a fill role like dps support. Also, I feel your pain playing with noobs that aren't playing their roles well.

I like Ash a lot but she is clunky. Charge to shoulder bash. Charge to knockback with ammo. Ult you can get knocked or grabbed out. I think just get rid of or greatly reduce charge time. And give her CC res in ult. Or maybe immune to stuns and displacement. Maybe make Kinetic burst a free hit, and like an "attack reset". Primary, knockback, primary midair.

Just telling me what i already know. DPS loses games. not the healer, not the tank. and the worst part is they are completely unaware if the DPS are relying on healers to save them it's because they are out of position and not landing their shots. but it doesn't stop their 6/15/7 44k damage asses from flaming you.

This is why I don't play Ash. She has a point tank kit, but it doesn't work.

You miss her best Item which is morale boost. You should rush it every game. Also, fortress breaker is her worst talent. And great thing to do when you must go back is placing you shield in direction that you will go and walking back with it. It make you harder to hit from sides and delete problem with shields going lower than you and stop being cover like we saen on shattered desert.

I've uninstalled paladins forever. Too many bugs, afks, toxic people, balances are shit in this game. They buff Lian, they buff vii then nerf him like what was the point in the first place? Where buff terminus, where true nerfs like Cassie. I moved to ow2 and it's funnier to me, yeah no load out items or talent but it's better in my opinion, not all this crap that makes the game stupid with "creativity"

I feel sorry for your poor soul. That character is probably the worst in the game.
